Hi, I’m Jessica O’Connor-Rathbun, LPC, founder of Nils Grace Therapy & Wellness here in Louisiana.
I’ve spent over 10 years working in the mental health field supporting teens (16+), adults, and couples as they navigate life’s challenges. I offer both in-person and virtual therapy, creating a supportive, judgment-free space where you can slow down, talk openly, and feel truly heard.
My path into this work began in Boston, where I earned my bachelor’s degree in Human Development with a minor in Juvenile Justice, followed by graduate degrees in Psychology and Mental Health Counseling. Over the years, I’ve worked in both inpatient and outpatient settings, supporting individuals, families, and those with military backgrounds.
My approach to therapy is conversational, supportive, and practical. I believe therapy should feel like a real conversation—one where you can be yourself, explore what’s going on, and even laugh sometimes. I’m especially passionate about helping people navigate anxiety, trauma, self-esteem, motherhood, relationships, and life transitions.
People often ask why I became a therapist. I usually joke that it’s because I’m a little nosy—but the truth is I believe life is too precious to spend it feeling stuck or unhappy. Everyone deserves the opportunity to understand themselves better and build a life that feels meaningful and fulfilling.
When I’m not working, you’ll likely find me spending time with my family, traveling, trying to figure out how I can squeeze in another Disney trip, loving on my five cats, or talking about Boston like it’s the greatest place on earth.
If you’re looking for a supportive, down-to-earth therapist, I’d be honored to walk alongside you on your journey.
