Stanly Adult Care Center

Stanly Adult Care Center We are a nonprofit organization established in December of 2021 to bring adult day health care and respite services to residents of Stanly County.

Our services will be available to adult residents (18 years and older) of Stanly, Montgomery, Anson, Rowan, and Cabarrus Counties. Adult day health services offer participants meaningful activities, interaction with friends, nutritious meals, health care services (such as health monitoring and medication administration), assistance with personal care (bathing and hair care), and transportation. Participants’ families will benefit from adult day services by receiving respite, or a break, from caregiving and can continue their own lives, which may include working, participating in community activities, and raising children. Currently there are no adult day health services in Stanly or Montgomery Counties. Stanly Adult Care Center will be certified by the North Carolina Division of Aging and Adult Services as a combination day care/day health center. Our goal is to be the premier provider of Adult Day Health Services in our area. Goals and objectives include the following: · Participants will be provided supervision and health care in a safe, homelike setting. · Participants will participate in appropriate enriching activities and develop nurturing relationships to improve their emotional and social well-being. · Participants will maintain or improve their level of functioning for as long as possible and continue to live at home rather than in expensive institutional alternatives such as assisted living/nursing home facilities. · Family caregivers will experience peace of mind and decreased stress levels while they work or take care of personal matters during the day. · Family caregivers will receive education and support to better prepare them to meet caregiving demands. Our mission is to provide safe, compassionate, and exceptional adult day health care services that will offer meaningful, individually tailored programs and care designed to enhance the quality of life of adults with physical or mental impairment while providing respite care for families and caregivers. Our vision is to be the community’s premier adult day health care provider of services that promote health, wellness, support, and peace of mind for our clients and their families.

Small Steps, Big Peace — Tip 6: Let “Good Enough” Be Enough

Caregiving doesn’t require perfection.

Good enough meals.
Good enough routines.
Good enough days.

Peace grows when pressure shrinks.

Small Steps, Big Peace — Tip 5: Protect One Pocket of Energy

Not your whole day — just one pocket.

Ten minutes.
One boundary.
One pause.

Energy protection is care, not selfishness.

Small Steps, Big Peace — Tip 4: Fewer Decisions = More Calm

Caregivers make hundreds of decisions a day.

One small step:
Remove one unnecessary decision.
Same breakfast. Same routine. Same schedule.

Less deciding = more peace.

Small Steps, Big Peace — Tip 3: You Don’t Need to Catch Up

If you feel behind already, pause.

There is nothing to catch up on.
You are allowed to begin gently.
This season is about steadiness — not speed.

Small Steps, Big Peace — Tip 2: Choose One Anchor

January doesn’t need a full reset.
It needs one steady anchor.

Choose one small daily habit:
• Morning coffee in quiet
• A short walk
• A consistent bedtime cue

Small consistency creates big peace.

Small Steps, Big Peace — Tip 1: Start With Your Body

Caregiving after the holidays can leave your body on high alert.

Before goals or routines, start here:
• Take three slow breaths
• Drop your shoulders
• Unclench your jaw

Peace doesn’t start with plans —
it starts when your body feels safe again.

New Year Reminder: Gentle Starts Are Still Strong Starts

It’s January 2 — and just in case you needed this reminder:

You don’t need a perfect plan.
You don’t need big resolutions.
You don’t need to have it all figured out.

You just need one gentle step forward.

This year, we’re choosing progress over pressure, grace over guilt, and support over doing it alone.

Here’s to a year of caring — for others and for ourselves. 💙💚

Season of Support Tip #14: Release What You Don’t Need to Carry Forward
As we stand on the edge of a new year, today’s reminder is simple and gentle:

You don’t have to carry everything into 2026.

If you can, take a moment tonight to release:
• Guilt that weighs you down
• Expectations that no longer fit
• Pressure to do it all perfectly
• Comparison to others’ journeys

Carry forward only what serves you:
Love.
Hope.
Grace.
And the knowledge that you are not alone.

May the new year meet you with peace and possibility.

Season of Support Tip #13: Reflect on What You’ve Carried
As this year begins to close, it’s okay to pause and reflect — not on what didn’t get done, but on what you carried.

Caregiving takes strength that often goes unseen.
You carried responsibility.
You carried worry.
You carried love.
You carried hope — even on hard days.

Before this year ends, take a moment to acknowledge yourself.
Not with judgment.
Not with comparison.
But with compassion.

You’ve done more than you realize — and it matters.

Winter Caregiving Tip #12: Give Yourself Space to Rest After the Holiday Rush

The days after Christmas often carry a quiet kind of tired — the emotional fatigue that comes from holding so much together.

Today’s reminder is gentle but important:

You need rest after giving so much.

Rest doesn’t always mean sleep.
It might look like:
• A morning without rushing
• A quiet cup of coffee
• Turning off your phone for an hour
• Saying “not today”
• Sitting in silence
• Letting yourself feel what you feel

This is a season of support — and that includes supporting your own heart.

Merry Christmas to our caregivers, supporters, and community.
We know this season can be full of joy and also full of emotion.
Wherever Christmas finds you today — in celebration, in quiet reflection, or in a moment of rest — we hope you feel seen, supported, and appreciated.

Thank you for the care you give, the love you show, and the strength you carry.

Warmest Christmas wishes from all of us at
