ICF/MR homes are certified by the North Carolina Division of Medical Assistance. Nothing is better than spending time in the NC Mountains during the fall. From the crisp air to the colorful fall leaves, individuals we support at GHA enjoyed a trip to Boone, NC in September. It was a fun-packed adventure from visiting the pumpkin patch, Mast General Store, bowling, eating out, enjoying sweet treats, and just relaxing at the cabin. It was a wonderful adventure with memories to last a lifetime! A special thank you to our Direct Care Staff and a special donor that made this trip possible.

Our individuals had the best time celebrating together in their cozy PJs, enjoying delicious cupcakes, and receiving some of their favorite items from their holiday wish lists. Smiles, laughter, and sweet moments filled the room, reminding us what this season is all about—joy, connection, and feeling truly celebrated. ❤️🧁🎁

Our Wilmington participants at Port City Academy have been soaking up all the holiday cheer! 🎄☕🍪

From making festive cocoa jars to share with their families to baking cookies that were definitely enjoyed at the end, this season has been full of creativity, laughter, and sweet moments. GHA Autism Supports and our Creative Arts Program are excited to share that we will have a booth at the YMCA Children’s Christmas Shop this Saturday, December 6th, from 9 AM to 1 PM!

This festive event, sponsored by the Stanly County Family YMCA, will be held at the YMCA Pavilion in Albemarle — a perfect spot to kick off your holiday shopping. 🎁

At our booth, you’ll find a beautiful selection of handcrafted fused glass pieces — including ornaments, magnets and necklaces — all created by the talented individuals we support through our Creative Arts Program. 💙

Our GHA family enjoyed a traditional Thanksgiving meal together this past week. It was a great time to gather and enjoy delicious food and fellowship with everyone. A special thank you to our Residential Programs and Second Street Sundries for preparing food, Immanuel Baptist Church for allowing us to use their facility, Direct Care & Central Office staff for their help during the event, and Tina Sturdivant for coordinating a wonderful meal together! What a wonderful night in Wilmington!

On November 12th, we gathered at the Harrelson Center Annex for a special Partnership Appreciation Dinner celebrating the individuals we serve, their families, our dedicated staff, employers, clinicians, and community partners. Everyone enjoyed a delicious meal and an evening filled with gratitude, connection, and celebration of the amazing partnerships that make our work possible!
