Sometimes we need to be reminded...comparison isn’t part of yoga.
In yogic philosophy, there’s a concept called aparigraha or non-grasping.
In other words, not chasing, not needing to be first.
Not comparing, Not competing.

And another, santosha or contentment.
It's being okay, right now, exactly where you are, as you are.

We’re not here to compete.
Not on the mat, not in life.
Not as students, not as teachers, not as a studio.

We’re just here to show up, stay present, and do our best.
We're here to create connection and community.
And we feel so at peace when we stay committed to just that :)

If YOU have ever been afraid to come to yoga or any group fitness class, worried that you wouldn't fit in...I think you've found a space for you. We'd love to have you at Rise Yoga!

Follow this link, schedule a class. Whether it's your first time, or it's been a long time...welcome home!

Did you know every Tuesday we have a Community Art Class that is free to attend? No supplies are needed we just ask that you text us to sign up because it’s limited spots available!!

🌸 Next week we are honored to have Christa, our new peer support on staff with us leading a Soap Making Workshop! You will get to explore with us and go home with your own hand made soap!

We believe in the power of creating at Will’s Place!! It’s literally etched into every square inch of our walls just about. Because being creative and using our hands to create and craft things invites us back into feeling, imagination, expression & connection.

It is not about being “good” at art…it’s about trying something new, connecting with ourselves & others and coming back to life!!

We hope to see you there!

Grill & Chill with our friends at CRCI 🤍

Today was a reminder of what happens when community comes together. We had folks from both organizations—some familiar faces, some new—and even a few who just showed up and found themselves right where they needed to be.

Good food, real conversations, and a powerful message of hope from Paul Wilkins.

This is what it’s all about—connection, support, and reminding people they’re not alone.

Shout out to Mark Weston for bringing this to life!

April is Occupational Therapy Month 💙

And we want to take a moment to give a HUGE shoutout to the incredible Occupational Therapy students from Pfeiffer University who have been with us this week at Will’s Place. .msot

We have truly been so honored to have them.

They’ve poured into our community in such meaningful ways…leading groups twice a day, jumping in to help organize and support our mission behind the scenes, and simply showing up with willingness to serve. They’ve also gotten to experience the heart of what happens here, and we are so grateful they chose to spend this time with us.

A big thank you as well to our community for being so warm and welcoming!!

Today they have 2 remaining classes they are leading:

• 🕤 9:30 AM Mock Interviews
• 🌿 11:30 AM (in the garden – come learn how to start your own mini garden!)

Come out, join a class, and help us thank them for sharing the skills and knowledge they’ve been developing in their master’s program.

💭 What does Occupational Therapy look like in addiction recovery?

Occupational Therapy is so much more than people realize…OTs help individuals rebuild their lives in practical, meaningful ways. In recovery, that can look like:
• Creating healthy daily routines and structure
• Building life skills (cooking, budgeting, time management)
• Learning coping strategies for stress, triggers, and emotions
• Reconnecting with purpose through meaningful activities
• Improving mental, emotional, and physical well-being
• Developing social skills and community connection
• Supporting independence and confidence in everyday life

It’s about helping people not just get sober….but build a life that feels worth living.

The work these OT students are stepping into matters so much, and we are so grateful they shared a piece of their journey with us here at Will’s Place this week!

We may have attempted an April Fools’ prank today on one of our staff members… let’s just say it didn’t exactly go as planned. We waited for them to come and take the trash out & Corey Beth was going to pop out the bag and scare them. We waited, but they never made it to the kitchen. But one of our community members showed up and pranked instead. 😂👏

But honestly, it turned into the perfect reminder of who we are as a team & community!

Yes, we work hard. We show up. We hold space. We take recovery seriously. AND at the same time… we LAUGH!! We have fun together. We connect. We build real life community! Because recovery also includes moments of spontaneous JOY!

Around our walls, team building matters…just as much as community connection matters. And sometimes, the best moments are the ones you can’t plan!!

P.S. Corey Beth was absolutely not harmed in the making of this prank 😄 We promise there was plenty of airflow with a hole into back.

Happy April Fools’ Day from all of us 🤍
