Today, we pause with deep gratitude to honor the brave men and women who have served our country. Through our We Honor Veterans program, Shepherd’s Cove Hospice has the privilege of walking beside these heroes in their final chapter, listening to their stories, offering comfort, and saying the words they so deeply deserve to hear: thank you.

Your courage and sacrifice will never be forgotten. 💙❤️

Hospice isn’t just for the final days; it’s for living fully in the time that remains.

Kelly Beck knows that even in an imperfect world, kindness can leave a lasting mark. Her grandfather received care from Shepherd’s Cove Hospice at home, and her grandmother spent her final days in the Shepherd’s Cove inpatient unit. Both experiences showed Kelly what love and dignity can look like at the end of life.

When her grandmother passed, she left Kelly her most treasured gift: a Bible filled with notes and a poem titled “A Grandmother’s Pearls of Wisdom.”

One line continues to guide Kelly’s life:
“The world is far from perfect, there’s conflict and there’s strife, but you still can make a difference by how you live your life.”

Kelly now honors that legacy through her support and volunteer service with a heart of gold. When you give to the Shepherd’s Cove Foundation, you help others experience the same compassion, peace, and purpose that shaped Kelly’s story.

Give today. Make a difference. Live your legacy.

As we conclude Spiritual Care Month, Shepherd’s Cove Hospice is honored to recognize The Rev. Shari Harrison of Christ Episcopal Church in Albertville, one of our devoted chaplains who faithfully serves patients and families through compassionate spiritual care.

The Rev. Harrison shares, “I became a chaplain at Shepherd’s Cove because I personally experienced the ministry of presence during the illness and death of my husband, and I understand the comfort, meaning, and peace it brings to patients and their families. Being a hospice chaplain allows me to walk alongside people in their suffering, offering spiritual care, compassion, and hope to those facing death and to their loved ones. It is an expression of faith in action—rooted in love, service, and a deep belief in the dignity of every human being. I am truly grateful for the opportunity to serve with Shepherd’s Cove.”

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to The Rev. Harrison and to all chaplains who give of their time, faith, and compassion to serve our patients, families, and team. Your ministry embodies the mission of Shepherd’s Cove Hospice and reflects the sacred call to bring comfort, peace, and hope to those we are privileged to serve.
