Congratulations to Plainview’s Sawyer Kate Hulgan on being named the CM Gridiron Full Court Girls’ Player of the Year! 🏀🔥
The junior standout has delivered a season that sets the standard. Driven, focused, and relentless in her preparation, Sawyer Kate’s dedication to the game is evident every time she steps on the floor. With her sights set on bringing home a state championship, she has poured everything into making this a historic year for the Plainview Lady Bears — and she’s not finished yet.
Through the end of the regular season, she was averaging 27 points per game, along with 5 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals per contest. She shot an outstanding 45% from three-point range and 66% from the field, knocking down 123 three-pointers and totaling 810 points. And as postseason play continues, those numbers have only continued to climb. Her performance earned her MVP honors at both the Sand Mountain Tournament and the DeKalb County Tournament. This season also saw her break and set the new National Career 3-Point Record — a remarkable accomplishment that reflects years of hard work and consistency.
Sawyer Kate has helped lead Plainview to the Northeast Alabama Regional 4A Finals, and her impact on the program has been nothing short of special. An incredible season and a well-deserved honor for one of the very best around.
