Angela Dawn Jones, age 50, of Cincinnati, IA, passed away on Sunday, March 8, 2026, at her home.

Angela was born on January 15, 1976, in Albia, IA, to Jerry and Karen (See) Templeton. Her parents divorced and she was raised by her mother and stepfather, Jerry Coatney. She grew up attending school in Seymour and later in Centerville. She continued her education by taking college courses in computer science/programming. On July 4, 1994, she was united in marriage to Chad Jones at his grandmother’s home in Centerville. Chad and Angela were blessed with 3 children, Brandon, Brett, and Corey, and shared 31 years of marriage prior to her passing.

Angela began her working career as a cook at Golden Age Care Center before moving on to serve as a receptionist at the Putnam County Hospital in Missouri. She later dedicated over 20 years to working as an online banking specialist for Farmer’s Bank of Northern Missouri.

Angela was exceptionally gifted and had a natural ability to learn anything she set her mind to. She enjoyed crafting of all kinds, including painting, making candles, sewing, and knitting. She was also an avid reader and especially enjoyed true crime and horror books by Anne McCaffrey and Stephen King. She loved being outdoors, gardening, fishing, raising chickens, and beekeeping. Above all else, Angela’s family was everything to her and spending time with them was her greatest joy.

Angela is survived by her husband, Chad; 2 sons, Brandon and Brett Jones; a daughter, Corey Jones; her father and stepmother, Jerry and Tina Templeton; 2 brothers, Brian (Cynthia) Templeton and Phillip (Rachel) Templeton; and her parents-in-law, Darrell and Kathy Jones. Angela is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, and good friends.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Karen Coatney; her stepfather, Jerry Coatney; and her grandparents.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. on Monday, March 16, 2026, at the Tharp Funeral Home in Albia, with Angela’s family present to greet family and friends. Per Angela’s wishes, her body will be cremated following visitation, and a private family burial will be held at a later date.

A memorial has been established to support her daughter Corey’s education.

Brenda Wignall, age 56, of Oskaloosa, IA, formerly of Albia, IA, passed away on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at the Serenity Hospice House in Oskaloosa.

Brenda was born on February 19, 1970, in Albia, to Edward Ellis and Peggy Darlene (Mefford) Wignall. She grew up attending school and graduated from high school with the Class of 1988. During her high school years, she was most proud of holding the shot put record which she held for 34 years and the discus record which she held for 15 years. Her mom always told her to quit bringing home medals because there was no more room to put them on her letter jacket.

Brenda worked for Pella Corporation for 23 years before she was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. Her main goal was to work for her 25 year diamond ring and become part of the Chairman Club. Brenda loved spending time outdoors with some of her favorite activities being grilling out, fishing, having campfires, and playing bags and horsehoes. She was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan. Above all else, Brenda cherished the time spent with her family and close friends.

Brenda is survived by her brother, Brian Wignall of Oskaloosa, along with her favorite cousin, Tony Long and and his wife, Angie Long.

Brenda is preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Peggy Wignall; sisters, Brenda Wignall in infancy and Cindy Wignall; and her brother, Tim Wignall. Brenda always joked that she would tell her sister, “Move over because I’m joining you and adding my year of passing to our headstone.”

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at the Tharp Funeral Home in Albia.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at the Tharp Funeral Home in Albia, with Pastor Rick Bick officiating. Burial will follow services at Cuba Cemetery in Monroe County.

An open memorial has been established to the family.

Fred John Steinbach, age 88, of Albia, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at his son’s home, surrounded by his loved ones, under the care of Care Initiatives Hospice.

Fred was born on May 13, 1937, in Hiteman, IA, to Frank and Margaret (Evans) Steinbach. He grew up attending school in Albia, graduating with the Class of 1955. On July 22, 1967, he was united in marriage to Sharon Cummins at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Georgetown with Rev. James Kelly officiating. Fred and Sharon were blessed with 2 children, John William and Patrick Joseph, and shared 58 years of marriage prior to his passing.

Fred began his working career as a lineman for Chariton Valley Electric where he worked for many years. He later owned and operated Steinbach Electric. In the spring and summer months, Fred worked in grounds and maintenance at Forrest Cemetery where he mowed, set monuments, and took care of general maintenance. Most importantly, Fred was a proud farmer and raised cattle.

Fred was a lifetime member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Albia. He enjoyed being outdoors, fishing, hunting, tending to his yard, and taking rides in his beloved 1965 Chevrolet Impala convertible. He had an interest in airplanes and aviation and enjoyed watching them when he had the opportunity. Fred had a great sense of humor, an infectious smile, and enjoyed joking and laughing with others. He loved taking trips, especially out west, to see the mountains and Mt. Rushmore. Above all else, Fred’s family was everything to him. He cherished the time spent with them and rarely ever missed attending his children or grandchildren’s sporting events.

Fred is survived by his wife, Sharon; 2 sons, John William (Amanda) Steinbach and Patrick Joseph Steinbach; 5 grandchildren, John, Henry, Addilyn Margaret Ann, Emmett, and Hudson; and 2 brothers, Joseph Steinbach and his twin, Frank Steinbach. Fred is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, and good friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Margaret Steinbach and 9 siblings, Minnie Allison, Bill Steinbach, Aldrena VonOrtwick, Margaret Mallie, Bernard Steinbach, Jim Steinbach, Don Steinbach, Kenneth Steinbach, and Darlene Major.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 15, 2026, at the Tharp Funeral Home in Albia, with Fred’s family present to greet family and friends. A Rosary will be held at 4:00 p.m. led by St. Mary’s Altar and Rosary Society and a Christian Wake Service will be held at 7:00 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 16, 2026, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Albia, with Father Isaac Essel, Father Michael Volkmer, and Father Joseph Phung officiating. Burial will follow services at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Albia.

An open memorial has been established to the family to be determined at a later date.
