We honor Maclovia today. A business owner and healer that brought the work of the curandera to light. She was an amazing rosary maker, a wonderful cook and a staple in Barelas. She taught herself the magic of the medicine in the plants and shared her knowledge to help others. We are honored to continue her entrepreneurial and healing legacy in this space. Martha E. Bernal, PhD was the first woman of Mexican descent to successfully complete her PhD in clinical psychology. She was an advocate for minorities in the field of mental health and greatly increased the treatment techniques for children in therapy. We honor her today and everyday and feature her as a hero in the mental health field. Stay tuned for more stories of amazing women as we honor the history of women in March!
