Did you know they suffer?

Your loved one- the one with dentures.

They SUFFER in SILENCE.

They don’t talk about it. They don’t mention it.

If you looked closer you can see the change- the way they eat, what they eat, how often they go out to eat with you.

Maybe it’s someone you live with- your husband or wife, or your grandparents.

No one really talks about the challenges they face when they wear dentures.

Sure- some get by and can eat what they want. They are the few, the exception to the rule.

Most only eat soft foods and place large amounts of denture glue in just to finish a meal.

The constant pain and trips back to the dentist for “adjustments” and “relines” to finally be told by their dentist to JUST GET USED TO IT.

They will deal with this THE REST OF THEIR LIVES.

Can you imagine having such a painful and embarrassing problem that you will deal with every day, every meal for the rest of your life.

Nancy was faced with that reality. She had just gone through ”a year of hell” she told me. A year with dentures. She had all her teeth taken out and given dentures the same day.

She told me everything changed for her.

She no longer went out with friends because she was embarrassed of her dentures. Afraid they would fall out.

She no longer can eat certain foods that she once enjoyed, foods that are critical to her health and nutrition.

She was overcome with happy tears this week while sitting in my chair. We discussed the possibility of enjoying her life again with teeth permanently connected to implants.

Denture vs. Happiness

Can someone with dentures have happiness?

Some can. Most don’t.

If you are being honest with yourself, dentures bring more sadness and sorrow then they do happiness.

Yes…

Dentures give you teeth, but not confidence.
They allow you to mash your food but not really enjoy chewing.
Glue allows them to stay in but you are still worried they will fall out and embarrass you.

We are good at hiding how we really feel. We are good at faking it.

YET

Anyone close to you can see the frustration and pain those dentures cause you. You try to hide it, we don’t want people to see our pain and struggle.

But you live with it every day. The constant…

Is this your NEW NORMAL?

All I want for Christmas is my 2 front teeth!!!

That song has been song since 1944. It's catchy and fun.

Although it's intent is for KIDS who have lost their front BABY TEETH
there are ADULTS all around the world wishing they could get a SECOND CHANCE with their adult teeth.

It would be nice to get a BEAUTIFUL set of teeth for Christmas

Do you TAKE your teeth OUT to eat?

Thats the conversation I just had with a patient.

Many people with false teeth have to take them out to eat most foods. They ”toughen” up their gums so they can “gum” their food.

They have to take them out because their plastic teeth hurt them, or they move, or they lack the chewing motion and bite force with their false teeth.

Most people with dentures have to GIVE UP certain foods- like they can never eat those foods again. Many have to eat soft, mash potato-like food- think baby food.

Others end up choking on their food because their false teeth and “tough” gums don’t do the work their natural teeth once did- so they end up SWALLOWING large chunks of food.

It doens’t have to be like this. You or a loved CAN have a permanet solution with a beautiful smile and the ability eat your favorite foods again.
