NMAHHC is inviting in-home care experts to submit their presentation ideas for our 2026 Annual Conference, happening on Thursday, September 10th. We welcome all submission topics as they relate to home health, hospice, personal care services or anything related to providing home care, but have identified the following topics as areas of particular interest:

- Culturally appropriate care
- Preparing for open electronic visit verification aggregator
- Value based purchasing
- Regulatory updates in home health & hospice
- Ways to capitalize on Medicare Advantage expansion
- How to make your caregivers feel valued
- Technology solutions for improved productivity/cost savings
- Other ideas are welcome too!

Thank you to The Santa Fe New Mexican for paying attention to how rate cuts for VA homemaker and home health aide services is impacting veterans’ ability to age in place here in New Mexixo.

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs slashed New Mexico payments for home health aide services by 19% between 2025 and 2026.

The association was extremely honored to host Senator Martin Heinrich to speak with our member agencies in a roundtable discussion about the impacts of an almost 20% cut to the VA home health aid and homemaker services rates.

Our providers spoke passionately about the care they are able to provide to NM veterans. And they described how veterans’ ability to remain independent and in their homes are being threatened by these cuts and other VA driven cost cutting measures.
