Hannah Espera, MSN-Ed, FNP-C, is the April Member in the Spotlight from Region 2.

Inspired during her initial nursing education in 2007, Hannah knew she wanted to become a nurse practitioner. She was drawn to the role because she wanted to use a nursing approach to provide comprehensive, patient-centered care, emphasizing evidence-based care, trust-building, patient education, and advocacy through collaborative decision-making.

An active national certification is required to maintain your license in New Mexico. If your certification lapses—even briefly—you risk immediate impact to your licensure and ability to practice.

Do not let your certification expire. Monitor your dates and renew on time.

Checking the Prescription Monitoring Program (PMP) is a required component of safe and compliant prescribing. Failure to review the PMP when prescribing controlled substances can put patient safety, and your license, at risk.

You are expected to check the PMP in accordance with New Mexico state requirements. Make it part of your standard practice—every time.

Register or access PMP here: https://www.nmpmp.info/account-and-registration/register-as-a-new-user/
