Lets talk economics for a second... I know that there is a group of you out there that is worried about business shutting down which could cause a economic collapse. Yes that is very serious. I am a one person small business and there are weeks that after i cover my expenses I pay myself and there are weeks that I don't. I did not take out a small business loan but did collect unemployment. I'm sure you all heard stories about how some were making more on unemployment but I wasn't one of them, it covered my utilities, mortgage, rent to my office, the basics. I made about half of what I would normally bring in.
Before I take a client, I ask them if they know that they have been exposed to anyone, if they have been asked to self-isolate, if they have traveled out of the state and I take temperatures. We both wear masks and I wear a face shield. Yes the mask is hot and slightly uncomfortable, you wear it for an hour I wear it for 6 to 8 hours. I get it.
Now I know everyone wants to get back to normal. Everyone has missed getting a massage from me and they want to support me as a small business. I am blessed by the outpouring of support. However when I ask those questions, I would love your honesty. I get the debate about masks and I know that I'm a virtue signalling lib-tard, we can debate that until the cows come home. Fine.
However if I get sick I cannot work. If I get exposed I cannot work, I must self quarantine for 14 days, whether you or I believe that this is real or not. If not I will lose my license which will take away my income.
So you want the economy strong, don't take away my job by getting my sick or by exposing me. On non-pandemic years I lose about 2-3 weeks total on getting sick. I can't blame anyone specifically but it costs me anyway. Maybe if I get covid-19 I'll be good in a couple of days, maybe I won't even realize but it cost me 14 days of work. That can be life or death for my business.
So please be honest with your answers to my questions. If its not a public health issue lets keep it about money because that's more important. If you want to support my small business, do your part to keep me healthy.
