According to CDC data, there are about 488 deaths every day from excessive alcohol use - that's about 20 people every hour. New Mexico trends higher than the national average on these statistics, and substance overuse/misuse is a significant contributing factor to our generational decline in health, harmony, and home.šŸ˜”

This week, our "Path to Fulfillment" focus activity is about recognizing the need for, and taking, real downtime. Not waiting for the weekend, but building practices during the week & nightly routines, to disconnect from work & digital media.

This is imperative for mental health, stress, anxiety, and overall well-being.
Part of the "attention economy" is deliberately designed to reel you in and manipulate emotions, causing stress, anger, frustration, and disrupting emotional regulation. When we're caught in this loop in the evening, it also affects sleep, perpetuating negative cycles of fatigue, stress, and even our food choices!

Did you know that New Mexico consistently ranks among the worst states for drunk driving, with alcohol-involved crashes accounting for approximately 40% of all traffic fatalities. As of August 2025, over 225 people died in alcohol-related crashes that year, with Bernalillo County recording the highest instances.

šŸ’”The state's alcohol-related death rate is more than double the national average.
šŸ’„This is our year to build generational health and change generational patterns of alcohol misuse - It starts with us and reversing these trends!
