This World Water Day, we here at Passages are reflecting on how best to care for our most important global resource. One of those ways is offering water burial options that leave zero polluting agents behind. Passages International is honored that the James family lovingly chose one of our biodegradable Seagrass Caskets to lay their dearly departed Barbara Finley James to rest. Barbara was collectively buried by family members and loved ones at the Prairie Creek Conservation Cemetery in an intimate end-of-life ceremony.

Prairie Creek is a Green Burial Certified non-profit community cemetery located in a protected conservation area near Gainesville, Florida. It is one of approximately 508 burial grounds in the United States offering natural burial services. As one of the front running eco-friendly organizations of the funeral industry, Passages International is pleased to play a role in green burials such as these.

Please join us in celebrating Jesse on his one year anniversary with Passages!

Jesse began his journey with the company as our delivery driver, taking many caskets to the airport and ensuring our local customers received inventory. More recently, Jesse was promoted to Die Cutter and Machine Operator, where he plays an important role in cutting our seeded shapes for our Blooming Remembrances alongside promotional orders from our sister company, Symphony Handmade Paper.

Jesse is a skilled craftsman who approaches every project with the mindset to solve the problem most effectively. Outside of working at Passages, Jesse also works as a bar back at a concert venue and enjoys live music.
