recognizes our outstanding PGY3 Residents! Dr Naga Grandhe gave Grand Rounds earlier this month on “Congenital Ichthyoses” - a comprehensive and well planned overview of a difficult topic. Then last week Dr Surya Veerabagu spoke on “The Cutting Edge: Dermatologic Surgery 101" (respectively) which included a fun, engaging and effective hands-on activity for faculty and residents in attendance. Residents and Faculty Drs. Aimee Smidt & Darren Kempton had a very "special" session with Lauren Thompson, PharmD, a PGY2 pediatric pharmacy resident at UNM, conducting liquid medication taste testing - with common formulations we prescribe like cephalexin, prednisolone, hydroxyzine etc. The range from yum to yuck was real! This learning session was so informative for us to consider when prescribing for our peds derm patients, or others who cannot tolerate pills. Thank you for the experience!

's Drs. Sheshanna Phan & Surya Veerabagu (PGY3s) attended the recent Hidradenitis Suppuritiva (HS) Academy in Charlotte, NC. This fully funded educational conference allows accepted residents to attend and learn about all things HS from leading experts in the field. So glad that they also connected with Dr. Sabah Osmani alumna, current senior UNC resident, while there!
