New Mexico Alliance for School-Based Health Care The New Mexico Alliance for School-Based Health Care is a 501(c)(3) advocacy organization that represents school-based health centers (SBHCs) in New Mexico.

The New Mexico Alliance for School-Based Health Care benefits students, families, schools and communities by:

Advocating in support of SBHCs in their delivery of medical and behavioral health services at school for students when they need it, thereby catching health problems, like asthma, diabetes and depression, early and preventing bigger problems later. Promoting comprehensive health services to students at school so they can avoid health-related absences and receive support to succeed in school. Partnering with schools to provide students coordinated services and support for success. Networking and collaborating with others to advocate for school-based health care at the state, national, tribal and local levels.

NMASBHC is offering 4-6 Level 3 Planning Grants worth up to $75K each. These grants are for previous SBHC planning grantees, current SBHC medical sponsors, or medical sponsors able to take over SBHC operations in locations previously closed.

Funds from this grant are to be used for FY27 (July 1, 2026-June 30, 2027)

This year's theme for the conference is Mapping the Way: Using Whole Child Health as Our Compass. Whole child health encompasses physical, mental, emotional, social, and environmental well-being-- all these factors can help health care professionals create measurable impact for students and families.

This season is about growing something beautiful. If you're a previous SBHC planning grantee, current medical sponsor, or a medical sponsor looking to re-open SBHC operations in a previously closed location, NMASBHC's Level 3 Grant might be for you.

We're offering 4-6 awards of up to $75K each for SBHC planning and expansion. Apply by April 10th to grow your SBHC operations.

As if SBHC Awareness Month couldn't get any better! We're thrilled about the opening of the new Gallup Community Health Campus Clinic at UNM-Gallup. We had the best time celebrating the occasion at the open house earlier this month.

The clinic provides on-site primary and preventative medical care and behavioral health services to all college and high school students at UNM-Gallup as well as faculty, staff and family members.

New funding opportunity! 📣

Thanks to funding from NMDOH, NMASBHC is offering 4-6 awards of up to $75K each for SBHC planning and expansion. This application is for funds to be used in FY27 (July 1, 2026 - June 30, 2027).

These Level 3 grants will allow grantees to assess and plan for new SBHCs or expand SBHC services. Level three planning grants are available to previous SBHC planning grantees, current medical sponsors, or medical sponsors able to take over SBHC operations in locations previously closed.
