Adelante's public sites are closed today and tomorrow, November 27 and 28, for the Thanksgiving holiday. Bargain Square will reopen on Saturday and our administrative offices and day programs will reopen on Monday, December 1.

The Adelante team got an early start on the holiday by providing seniors with a Thanksgiving meal last Thursday at the Mesilla Community Center. It’s one of several sites where Adelante offers Senior Meals & Transportation in Doña Ana County. Having a place to enjoy nutritious food—and to connect and socialize—is so important for our seniors.

The meal included turkey, stuffing, potatoes, green beans, and even pumpkin pie. Our CEO, Rebecca, was also on hand to visit with the seniors and our staff.

This holiday season and year-round, we are grateful to our Board of Directors for their leadership and dedication to Adelante.

This year, we want to especially recognize Ryan Baca who has served as our Board Chair for the last six years. She and her family have a long history of advocacy work on behalf of people with disabilities across New Mexico. Ryan has offered a person-centered, service viewpoint to the board and has been a wonderful board member and leader. This month, she's handing the reins over to Andres Garcia, our new Chair. Of course, she will remain on the board, which we appreciate.

Pam Sullivan has stepped down as Treasurer of the Board after many years of service in that position. Steve Essington will be taking her place.

Thank you, Ryan, Andres, and our entire board for your tireless work with Adelante to move our community forward.
