Please join us as we break ground on Eddy County’s new Detention
Center.

The event will begin at 10:30 AM at the Eddy County Sheriff’s Office located directly across the street from the construction site located at 1502 Corrales Dr.

Our lineup of guest speakers will share the history of the current Detention facility, the need for the new facility, and the historic importance of the project to Eddy County.

Immediately following the ceremony, refreshments will be provided and architect’s renderings and video animation of the facility will be available to view.

We look forward to celebrating this historic moment with you.

This morning, BCSO partnered with the New Mexico State Police for Operation “Schlatty” in honor of Sergeant Michael Schlattman.

We focused on I-40 between Tramway and Sedillo Hill to increase compliance and keep roadside responders and the motoring public safe.

Results:
106 vehicles stopped
163 total citations
67 citations for Failure to Move Over/Yield
1 misdemeanor arrest
3 vehicles towed

Slow down. Move over. Pay attention. It saves lives.

New Mexico’s Move Over Law requires drivers to move over for stopped emergency vehicles, tow trucks, and NMDOT vehicles with flashing lights when it is safe to do so. If you cannot safely change lanes, you must slow down well below the posted speed limit and pass with caution.
