Dr. Hamilton is starting a medical ministry for folks in rural NM. Based on her earlier work here it appears that Native Americans and Hispanics may benefit from a public education campaign around new hope for early dementias. The ministry will provide low fee or free medical workups for early dementia.

I believe there is a need for educational outreach to members of rural communities. Among the populations at high risk of dementia are Hispanics and Native Americans.

I am a semi-retired (Emeritus) Professor at Duke University, in Durham, NC. I am doing a chart review studu of 20 consecutive patients with Subjective Cognitive Complaints, Mild Cognitive Impairment, and/or Early Dementia. But I plan to start a new Clinical Research Study soon (pending Duke IRB approval). A new focus of the research will be to offer a free or low-cost Initial evaluation of these issues, especially for Native Americans and Hispanics.
