Please join us this afternoon for the annual Homeless Persons’ Memorial Day Vigil and silent march. This national day of remembrance, centered around the winter solstice and the longest night of the year, the lives of people who died while experiencing homelessness, and those who were formerly unhoused but carried that experience with them to the end. It also draws attention to the public health crisis posed by housing instability.
The silent march will begin at the AHCH Memorial Wall, a dedicated space honoring those who have passed away. Participants are invited to join a solemn and silent procession from the AHCH Memorial Wall to Civic Center. We will also be doing a sock drive and have burritos for the first 200 participants.
