Childhood oral health improved by breastfeeding
The likelihood of tooth decay, cavities or pain was lower in children ages 6 months to 5 years who had been exclusively breastfed for six months as infants than in those who were never breastfed, according to a study described by Healio. The research, presented at an American Public Health Association meeting, also found that children who were not breastfed had a 12.3% higher occurrence of dental disease.
