Our team member Lydia, Community Health Worker, had an absolute blast at the Iosco County Family Fun Fair in Oscoda this last weekend!

The Iosco County Family Fun Fair, hosted by the Oscoda Rotary Club with local sponsors, offers a free, family-friendly event connecting families with community health, recreation, and family services. Community members were also invited to enjoy a free lunch, activities for the whole family, and a chance to win door prizes.

It was such a wonderful opportunity to connect with families, have fun, and share helpful resources with our community! A huge thank you to the Rotary Club of Oscoda and all the incredible volunteers who helped make this event so enjoyable and welcoming for everyone!

Please help AHC cheer on one of our dedicated staff members, Kyrstin Smith, as she accomplishes her dream and runs in the Boston Marathon next week!

Kyrstin has been a Quality Care Coordinator at Alcona Health Center for a year, educating patients on comprehensive care, overcoming barriers, and addressing care gaps through outreach and education.

She qualified for the Boston Marathon at the Grand Rapids Last Chance BQ event in September 2025 with a time of 3 hours and 23 minutes. Way to go, Kyrstin!

Through Kyrstin faced challenges in balancing family life, professional life, and training, she has been preparing for the race by maintaining a disciplined diet, training early mornings at the gym, and running over 800 miles in just 5 months! After the race, she plans to celebrate with good food alongside her mother (who she also credits as her best race supporter!) and fellow runners.

Join us in congratulating Kyrstin and wishing her luck as she takes on the Boston Marathon! 🏃‍♀️‍➡️
