If you rely on Medicaid, you shouldn’t have to pay for treatments that don’t work. The House of Representatives reintroduced the bipartisan Medicaid VBPs for Patients (MVP) Act, which would modernize Medicaid’s framework for value-based purchasing arrangements.

By allowing states to tie payment for high-cost therapies to how well they work for patients, the MVP Act helps:

- Expand access to cell and gene therapies and other cutting-edge treatments for people with rare diseases
- Protect state Medicaid programs and taxpayers from paying for treatments that are not effective
- Support sustainable innovation in the biopharmaceutical pipeline
