It’s time for Joan “E” to step into the spotlight.

Joan “E” has been a valued part of our Still Waters Hospice family since 2021, serving as a dedicated Medical Assistant with a heart for helping others.
She is always eager to learn, stepping into new roles and supporting different areas of our team whenever needed. Her compassion truly stands out, our families often share how much it means that she goes above and beyond during some of their hardest moments. From lending a helping hand to even cooking meals to comfort those in our care, Joan pours her heart into everything she does.
Joan is also continuing to grow in her career, currently enrolled in nursing school at LSUA, an incredible accomplishment on its own and as if that’s not enough, she’s doing it all while expecting her second baby!

Happy Doctor’s Day Dr. Smith!

Today we celebrate Dr. Smith, our amazing Medical Director, our go to, the calm in our chaos.
If you’ve ever worked with him, you’ve probably heard
“I know things… tell them to stop, I don’t know, I’m just a doctor!” We all know he’s so much more than that. He’s a leader, a steady voice, and someone we can always count on. We’re incredibly thankful for his dedication, his wisdom, and even more thankful for his patience with all of us and our “quick questions” (that are never actually quick ).
We’re pretty sure coffee, patience, and a whole lot of heart are what keeps him going and we are SO thankful for all three
On a serious note 🗒️
Dr. Smith our team values you as a leader and a friend. We
thank you for your heart for our patients, and for always being there to help make sure that their needs are being met in every way possible.

Drum roll please…..
now introducing Mr. Clark our wonderful Chaplain

Since joining our team in 2011, Clark has been a steady and compassionate presence for both our staff and the families we serve. A man of deep and unwavering faith, he has a remarkable ability to lead, uplift, and bring comfort in even the most difficult moments.
Clark’s greatest joy in life is his children and grandchildren, whom he speaks of with pride and love. That same warmth and care is extend into everything he does here. Whether offering a listening ear, a word of encouragement, or simply showing up when it matters most, he is always just a call away.
Known for his incredible personality and genuine kindness, Clark is more than our chaplain, he is a trusted friend to us all. His presence makes a lasting impact, and we are truly blessed to have him as part of our team.

Finally, we are settled in from a busy Monday of a day filled with what most call work but our team sees it as their calling guided by the lord, our loving team and patient care coordination. With that let’s meet our amazing office manager, Lakyn who keeps it all on track for us and our families🩵

For 14 years, Lakyn has been the heart behind the scenes of our team. She’s the friendly voice on the other end of the phone, the one keeping our schedules on track, and the person making sure everything runs smoothly day in and day out.

From coordinating the details to supporting our staff, she truly does it all and she does it with care.

Lakyn is not only an incredible manager, but also a devoted wife and mom. She goes above and beyond every single day to ensure we’re able to serve our families with compassion and excellence.

We are so grateful for you, Lakyn! 🩵

Still Waters Hospice staff star of the day is….

Angelle her friends and family refer to her as Boo-Boo!

Angelle is the newest member of our Still Waters family. She joined our team as we expanded to introduce palliative care, and her arrival truly felt like perfect timing. You know the saying, the Lord knows exactly what you need and when you need it — and Angelle has been just that kind of blessing.

She has quickly become a wonderful addition to our team and to the families we serve. Angelle greets each day with a smile and carries a calm, reassuring presence that is felt by everyone around her. We are grateful to have her as part of our hospice family.
