Shared by Masoud Saman, MD () - A facelift is not a transformation into a different person. It is a personal decision to bring your outward appearance closer to the way you experience yourself.

It is not a race to look younger.
It is about subtlety, proportion, and feeling safe with a skilled surgeon who understands your goals.

Real beauty is not about erasing your story.
It is about recognizing yourself again, gradually and thoughtfully, in a way that feels honest and true.

Ever wondered how some people are getting major procedures for a fraction of the usual cost?

A recent article sheds light on a trend that’s gaining traction - done at a “fellows’ clinic”. Fellows are full-fledged, licensed plastic surgeons who’ve graduated from accredited residency programs and thus have completed their formal training. But instead of going straight into practice, they’ve chosen to devote an extra year to learning the nuances of aesthetic surgery, specifically.

These programs aren’t “cheap gimmicks” - they’re part of rigorous surgical training and are supervised by experienced, board-certified surgeons. But what are the trade-offs, how safe are they, and what should patients consider before booking?

This article goes beyond the headlines to unpack what these clinics really mean for patients and the broader aesthetic surgery landscape. Tap the link in our bio to find out more with insight from members J. Madison Clark, MD, FACS and Babak Azizzadeh, MD.
