Public viewing and visitation will be held Saturday, April 18, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. until the start of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 1116 16th Street, Alexandria, Louisiana, with Pastor Roger L. Green, Sr. officiating. Interment will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery, Alexandria, Louisiana.

A devoted husband, loving father, and faithful friend, James will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his ability to fix anything, and the joy he brought to others through his laughter, humor, and generous spirit.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, April 9, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Hermon Baptist Church, 9152 LA-1, Lena, Louisiana. Public viewing and visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Roadview Cemetery in the Taylor Hill Community of Lena, Louisiana.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 4, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at True Believers, 4101 Duhon Lane, Alexandria, Louisiana. Public viewing and visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.

Interment will follow immediately in Garden of Memories Cemetery, Alexandria, Louisiana.

Mrs. Mattie Simmons Harris, age 98, of LeCompte, Louisiana, entered her eternal rest on March 17, 2026. Born May 11, 1927, in Cheneyville, Louisiana, she lived a long and meaningful life rooted in faith, love, and devotion to her family and church. A faithful member of St. John Baptist Church, she served as a choir member, Deaconess, and Trustee, and was known for her kind heart, radiant spirit, and unwavering generosity.

She leaves to cherish her memory her children, grandchildren, and a host of extended family and friends, and was preceded in death by her beloved husband, parents, several children, grandchildren, and siblings.

Services will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at St. John Baptist Church, 131 Frankie Smith Rd., Lecompte, Louisiana, with public viewing and visitation from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

It is with heartfelt sorrow that we announce the passing of Bro. Charles Brown Jr., who transitioned from this life on March 13, 2026. He was a beloved husband, Son, father, grandfather, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 20, 2026, at St. Mark Chapel, 712 Avoyelles Drive, Alexandria, LA. Viewing will begin at 10:00 AM, followed by the service at 11:00 AM, officiated by Rev. Jason W. Jacob.

Interment will follow at Central Louisiana Veterans’ Cemetery, 3348 University Parkway, Leesville, LA.
