Thank everyone who joined us to observe the Stations of the Cross this season in our Trinity Healing Garden. The devotional exercise of visiting and praying in front of each of the 14 stations and meditating on the Passion of Christ stems from the practice of early Christian pilgrims who visited the scenes of the events in Jerusalem and walked the traditional route from the supposed location of Pilate's house to Calvary, where Christ was crucified.

Rain is like your typical toddler—she loves watching Peppa Pig, eating popcorn, and playing with her kitchen set. With the help of speech and occupational therapy at our Kids Clinic, she’s learning to communicate more clearly and manage her emotions through sensory activities like deep pressure and movement. This Autism Acceptance Month, we celebrate victories like Rain’s and the hard work put in to help each child thrive. Whether it’s improving communication, making new friends, or learning emotional regulation, we’re here to support every child along the way!

In honor of Women’s History Month, we are celebrating women saints like Saint Teresa Benedicta of the Cross. Born Edith Stein in 1891 into a Jewish family, she was a brilliant philosopher whose search for truth led her to Catholicism after reading the writings of St. Teresa of Ávila. Entering the Carmelite order, she continued to offer her intellect and faith to the Church amid rising N**i persecution. Arrested in 1942 and sent to Auschwitz, she died in the gas chambers, offering her life in solidarity with her people. Canonized in 1998, she is honored as a philosopher, mystic and modern martyr whose courage and conviction continue to inspire generations.

This month, we’re celebrating how the physicians we work with are putting our values into action. Nominated for displaying the CHRISTUS value of excellence, today we’re proud to recognize Dr. Gene Otounye!

As an ICU physician, Dr. Otounye exemplifies excellence through clinical expertise, steady leadership, and compassionate communication. In the fast‑moving, high‑stakes environment of critical care, he not only responds to emergencies—he anticipates them. His leadership elevates the entire care team. Dr. Otounye fosters collaboration, invites input from nurses, and creates a space where every team member feels empowered to speak up. During rapid changes or crises, he remains composed and clear, guiding the team with confidence and focus.

Thank you, Dr. O, for the extraordinary excellence you bring to critically ill patients, their families, and the entire Cabrini team.

Today on Heritage Day, we gather as members of CHRISTUS Health, united by the heritage entrusted to us by the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word of Houston, the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word of San Antonio and the Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth, who continue to guide us in compassion and service. Bless all of us, that our homes and workplaces may reflect Your love and peace. Grant us the strength to support one another, to lift up those in need and to be signs of hope. Help us build communities marked by belonging, respect and compassion. Pour out Your blessings on our ministry, our Associates, our Congregations and all who partner in our care.

In honor of Women’s History Month, we are celebrating women saints like Saint Rose Philippine Duchesne. Born in France in 1769, she endured the upheaval of the French Revolution and years of uncertainty before finally answering her call to missionary life. In 1818, she journeyed to the United States, establishing schools and the first convents of the Sacred Heart west of the Mississippi, and serving communities in Missouri and Louisiana. Later, she ministered among the Potawatomi people in Kansas, where her deep prayer life earned her the name “Woman Who Prays Always.” Canonized in 1988, she is remembered as a patron of perseverance and a model of missionary courage and dedication.
