When Katie’s water broke at just 27.5 weeks, baby Blake entered the world 12 weeks early and faced a fight for survival. Thanks to Children's Miracle Network Hospitals donations, advanced equipment like the Omni Isolette Carestation gave him the support he needed in the NICU.
After 10 weeks of overcoming challenges and with the compassionate care he received, Blake never missed a milestone. Today, he’s a thriving little boy who loves rice & gravy and hamburgers. 💛
Blake’s story is even more remarkable. He and his dad were both born at 27 weeks, 37 years apart and cared for by the same beloved nurses, Mr. Eddie and Miss Faye!
Join us for the 2026 MediaThon benefiting the upgrade of our NICU, helping more miracles, like Blake, have the chance to grow and thrive. Make a gift today at https://christus.io/StFrancesCMNMediathon.

Susan Duke's breast cancer journey began 32 years ago, marking the start of a story defined by courage and commitment to progress. After completing five years of Tamoxifen, she joined clinical trials, including one for Electroso. Although she would have to resume her fight, she fights with confidence and with the full support of our entire medical team, including Dr. Bassam Abi-Rached. Today, she continues treatment at our cancer center, describing her care as "above excellent," never doubting that she's exactly where she’s meant to be.

“I know that I'm where they love me," she said. "They care for me here, and I know I will get the best treatment possible.”

Every December, our CTC family medicine clinic on Versailles enjoys a fun Secret Santa tradition, but this year, our team felt called to do even more. Inspired by how blessed we are, they connected with a local Hope House and were matched with four individuals who had just become residents and needed support.
Thanks to their generosity, each person received a large tub filled with gifts, including essential items, special requests, and a daily devotional. ❤️
This experience truly embodied our mission in action, and our team has already committed to making this an annual tradition. We look forward to partnering with the Hope House again next year to continue spreading hope, compassion, and Christmas cheer.

With the holiday season in full swing, it's important to know where to turn for the right care when you need it, especially if your regular doctor’s office is closed. Whether it's a cough, fever, sprain, or a more dire emergency, we're here to help you choose the most appropriate care option. Choosing wisely between Emergency Care, Primary Care, Urgent Care, and Virtual Care can lead to faster treatment, lower costs, and better outcomes.

When David Bordelon began experiencing swelling, fatigue, and irregular blood pressure, he knew something wasn’t right. An angiogram revealed 99 percent blockage in his left anterior descending (LAD) artery, 80 percent beneath it and 90 percent on its other side. He was told he would require surgery immediately and underwent a successful triple bypass two days later. After spending five more days in recovery, David began cardiac rehab with us at our Alexandria hospital. David describes the support he received from our care team as “wonderful.”

“I had nurses at my beck and call,” he recalled. “Whatever I needed, it didn’t matter; they were there, and they got me up. I had great care.”

Today, he advises others to be willing to ask questions, no matter how hard, because everyone is there to support you and make you feel comfortable.

This , we’re looking back on a year of incredible advances in care and celebrating how our clinicians and teams are bringing our communities access to the most cutting-edge treatments. Dr. Joey Karim Ead is leading the way in advanced wound care as the first podiatric surgeon in the Alexandria region to use fish skin grafts, a revolutionary technique harnessing the natural healing properties of cod skin.
When 80-year-old Duane Lathrop faced a severe foot infection, this cutting-edge treatment helped save his foot. Acting as a biological substitute, the cod skin graft promoted rapid healing, and in just six months, Duane was back on his feet—walking independently and living life on his terms.

After a serious car accident left ICU nurse Sarah Fricke-Wood unable to bear weight on both legs and one arm, she was airlifted for surgery. But when it came time for rehabilitation, Sarah knew exactly where she wanted to go, home to our facility.

"I need my people. I need my home," Sarah shared. “My therapists at Cabrini helped me find strength and independence again, from learning how to transfer to a wheelchair to practicing how to change my baby’s diaper safely. They didn’t just see my injuries; they saw me.”

Through intensive inpatient therapy, Sarah relearned everyday movements, regained her mobility, and found emotional healing through compassionate care.

Now, as she continues her recovery, Sarah says she’ll never forget the people who gave her back her independence, and her confidence.
