Serving with Excellence Cleburne County Sheriff! Thank you.
The Cleburne County Sheriff’s Office would like to address the rumors and social media posts currently circulating about three youth suicides in our county over the past few months.
This information is absolutely false.
In the last few months, there has been one incident involving a youth attempting to harm themselves in Cleburne County. That individual is currently receiving medical care and remains hospitalized. Out of respect for the family, we will not be releasing any further details.
Sharing unverified information on social media only creates unnecessary fear, confusion, and concern within our community. We ask everyone to be mindful and responsible before posting or repeating information that has not been confirmed by official sources.
Our schools and teachers do an outstanding job checking on the well being of our students. We are grateful for the partnership we have with our school system and their continued dedication to the safety and care of our children.
In addition, our deputies are equipped with telehealth devices in their patrol vehicles, which is another resource. If we respond to a call involving someone, no matter their age, who may be suffering from a mental health crisis, our deputies have the ability to connect that individual face to face with a licensed mental health professional in real time. This allows individuals to receive immediate support, evaluation, and guidance right there on scene. Our goal is always to provide the appropriate care and resources while treating every person with dignity and compassion.
If you have concerns or questions, please contact the Sheriff’s Office directly rather than relying on social media speculation.
We appreciate the support of our community as we continue working together to keep Cleburne County informed and safe.
