IMPORTANT CHANGES TO YOUR CHILD’S MEDICAID INSURANCE
Mitchells Pediatrics wants to make sure all families are aware:
Louisiana Medicaid will end its contract with UnitedHealthcare (UHC) on
December 31, 2025.
If your child is covered by UnitedHealthcare Medicaid, their coverage will change on January 1, 2026.
WHAT WILL HAPPEN?
📌 Your child should be automatically moved to a different Louisiana Medicaid plan.
📌 You will receive a letter or notice telling you which plan your child is assigned to.
📌 You will have 90 days to switch to a different plan if you prefer.
📌 Mitchells Pediatrics accepts ALL Louisiana Medicaid plans, so your child can continue being seen here without interruption.
WHAT YOU SHOULD DO NOW
✔ Make sure your address and contact information are up to date with Louisiana Medicaid.
✔ Watch for letters, texts, or emails from Medicaid or UnitedHealthcare about the change.
✔ Once you receive your child’s new plan information, bring it to your next appointment or show it to our front desk.
✔ If you want to switch plans, contact Medicaid or your caseworker during the 90-day window.
