There was a huge turnout in Madison, WI, last week for APTA Wisconsin's Lobby Day at the state capitol!

275 PTs, PTAs, and students, along with 100 of our OT colleagues, met with legislators as part of APTA Wisconsin's Legislative Day to promote the PT profession and advocate for APTA Wisconsin’s Prior Authorization bills, AB 368 and SB 373. Their collective efforts resulted in six new co-sponsors!

APTA is aware of the U.S. Department of Education’s RISE Committee recommendation to reclassify the physical therapist degree.

While not a final determination, this proposal is misguided, misinformed, and threatens an already strained health care workforce.

A formal public comment period is expected in early 2026 — and we’ll be ready.
