Today, Atherton had the pleasure of hosting the Dan Stover Music Scholarship event with the Alhambra and Monterey Park Rotary Clubs. It was a wonderful afternoon celebrating talented young artists and their passion for music.

We are grateful to be a part of such a special event and to support opportunities that uplift and inspire our community.

We were honored to have our very own resident, Rev. Cory Ishida, lead a dedication for our new van last Friday.
And with grateful hearts, we thank our residents whose generosity keeps Atherton moving forward. Our new wheelchair van will provide safe and reliable transportation for resident appointments and daily needs. A true blessing to our community.

Today on we celebrate - Hannah Atherton Baldwin. In 1914, Hannah Atherton Baldwin, an 82-year-old resident of Los Angeles, requested an audience with Baptist leaders from nearly 100 churches to present a plan based upon a lifelong dream. As a young woman, Hannah had overheard a poor missionary couple pray aloud out of a desperate need to find an affordable place where they could retire. Once she was able to act on it, Hannah purposed to turn those prayers into a reality. Atherton has been fulfilling those prayers for over a century. Hannah’s vision, initially launched in Burbank, has remained clear and focused across the years, through wars, economic strife and one national crisis after another. Hannah’s dream lives on; and it has grown beyond anything she could have imagined.

Today we honor 13 years of dedication.
Leo Giammalva has been a pillar of Atherton: dependable, hardworking, and deeply devoted to our residents and team. If something needed to get done, Leo was there. If someone needed help, Leo showed up. This kind of consistency and heart cannot be replaced. We will truly miss him, and are grateful for the years he gave to this community and the countless lives he touched along the way.

Congratulations, Leo, on your retirement. May this next season be filled with peace, joy, and everything you deserve. Happy retirement!

Happy Lunar New Year 🧧✨

Our residents celebrated the Year of the Horse with delicious dim sum, a vibrant performance by the Angel Dance Group, and a special piano performance by our very own resident, Fannie. A beautiful afternoon filled with good company and joy.
