🌼 It’s Allergy Season — Is It Affecting Your Eyes? 🌼

If your eyes have been itchy, watery, or irritated lately, you’re not alone—this time of year can be tough on your eyes. Here are a few simple ways to get relief:

1️⃣ Rinse with Artificial Tears
Use preservative-free artificial tears to help flush out allergens. Try keeping them chilled—cool drops can feel soothing and may help reduce redness and inflammation. Cool compresses can also help calm irritated eyes.

2️⃣ Clean Your Lids Daily
Allergens build up around your eyes. Use lid scrubs morning and night, and also after spending extended time outdoors. Washing your face regularly helps too.

3️⃣ Try Over-the-Counter Relief
Antihistamine eye drops like Pataday can help reduce itching and other allergy symptoms. Oral allergy medications may also help if symptoms are more severe.

4️⃣ Reduce Allergen Exposure
After being outside, change clothes promptly when you come indoors and shower when you can. This helps keep pollen and allergens out of your home.

5️⃣ See Your Eye Doctor
If your symptoms aren’t improving, we can help with additional treatment options, including prescription drops.

6️⃣ Don’t Forget About Dry Eye
Some allergy medications—especially antihistamines—can actually make dry eyes worse. If you struggle with dryness, supporting your tears from within can help. We often recommend Health Dry Eye & Glare Defense as part of a complete approach.

Hey Alice Family Eye Center patients, here is a helpful post:

🌼 It’s Allergy Season… But Is It Really Allergies?

If your eyes are bothering you, it might not be just alIf your eyes are bothering you, it might not be just al …

👉 It could be dry eye, allergies, or BOTH.
👁️ How to Tell the Difference

Allergy Eyes:
• Itchy (this is often the bigger clue)
• Red, watery eyes
• Puffy eyelids

Dry Eyes:
• Burning or stinging
• Gritty / “sand” feeling
• Blurry or fluctuating vision
• Light sensitivity

🤔 Can you have both?
Yes — and it’s very common.

Allergies can actually trigger or worsen dry eye, so symptoms can overlap.
⚠️ Important to know:
Some allergy treatments (like antihistamines) can actually
👉 dry your eyes out even more!!! So be careful with OTC allergy meds or allergy eye drops if you have dry eyes.

💧 What helps?
• Stay hydrated
• Use artificial tears
• Avoid rubbing your eyes
• Support your tear film (not just temporary relief)

💙 Where Jubileye fits in
Jubileye helps support:
• Hydration
• Tear film stability
• Eye comfort
👉 Especially when dryness lingers after allergies

👨‍⚕️ Bottom line:
If your eyes are itchy → think allergies
If they burn or blur → think dry eye
If it’s both → you need to support both

✨ Don’t just guess — support your eyes the right way
