San Patricio County
City of Taft leaders have also opened a daytime warming center to help residents prepare for the incoming cold weather.

Kiva Hut Warming Center
Located at 402 Park St, Taft, and will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, January 25, and Sunday, January 26.

Community partners, including Hometown Soap n Sudz and Taft Mayor Elida Castillo, will be assisting by providing blankets. Residents who need help getting to the warming center or require additional support are encouraged to reach out directly to the following city leaders.

With freezing weather in the forecast the next few days, REAL Transportation is providing free rides to the warming centers for all of Aransas County. REAL transportation has a dedicated driver on standby for Aransas County during this Arctic Blast. If you or someone you know needs a ride to a warming center call Real Transportation at 361-668-3158 and press 2 for transportation.

Nueces County Warming Centers...

Nueces County Warming Centers

Nueces County, in collaboration with the City of Robstown, is activating an overnight warming center in response to an incoming extreme cold front that is expected to bring freezing temperatures, below-freezing wind chills, and the potential for freezing rain.

Overnight Warming Center Location:
Robstown Senior Community Center415 Mainer Rd., Robstown, TX 78380

The warming center will open at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 24, and will remain open continuously through mid-morning Tuesday, January 27.

Cots, food, and beverages will be provided. Pets are welcome.

Transportation:
Free transportation is available via Corpus Christi Regional Transportation Authority (CCRTA) buses.

Bus Route 34, with a stop at #1229 (GI Forum Village 1), is the recommended option.
Residents are encouraged to monitor local television and radio stations for the latest weather updates.

Real-time information will also be shared on the Nueces County and NCSO pages along with the NCSO app.

Good afternoon,

We had our 2pm conference call with the National Weather Services, good news!!!! She warmed up a few degrees in our area, HOWEVER!!!! It is still going to be extremely cold!

PREPARE NOW!!! I can’t stress enough to make plans for your loved ones, make plans for your pets, protect your exposed pipes, and take care of your outdoor plants!!!
