On the night of 03/30/2026, Paramedic Joey Campos and EMT Stephanie Weeks with Allegiance M51, along with Alice Fire Department Engine 1, responded to an 83-year-old female who suffered a deep wrist laceration while disposing of a broken vase. The patient had lost a significant amount of blood and required rapid interventions.

The Alice Police Department acted quickly, applying a tourniquet to control the bleeding while M51 and Engine 1 crews performed a rapid assessment and provided critical treatment to stabilize the patient.

Allegiance M51 administered 1 unit of Whole Blood on scene, helping correct signs of hemorrhagic shock. The patient was then transported to Christus Spohn Alice Hospital ER, where the dedicated medical team continued her care.

Incredible teamwork by all agencies involved. Your swift response made a lifesaving difference. We are especially proud of these crews for being part of the CBRAC Regional Whole Blood (WB) program—an initiative that continues to bring advanced, lifesaving care directly to patients in the field.

This call also highlights the critical importance of blood donation. The whole blood used in emergencies like this comes directly from generous donors in our community, and those donations stay local to help patients right here at home. In moments like these, it could be your friend, your neighbor, or even your own family member who depends on that lifesaving resource.
