Bonnie Fang Foundation

The Bonnie Fang Foundation was founded in 2002 by Bonnie’s daughters when she passed from lung cancer. She made it her mission to provide help to those in need.

The Bonnie Fang Foundation (BFF) was established in 2002 to honor nurses who demonstrate the dedication and desire to deliver outstanding patient care and continue Bonnie’s legacy of giving to the community. Bonnie, who was a nurse, was a very passionate woman who cared deeply not just for her family and friends, but for everyone around her. She was an advocate among her peers, leading a successful campaign petitioning the California Nursing Board to allow foreign nurses to take their Board exams and receive their California licenses to practice as RN’s. Her compassion and drive to help those in need made a great impact on her daughters and they have made it their mission to continue her legacy.

We continue to mourn the loss of Alex Pretti, whose impact on the nursing community will not be forgotten.

Alex believed deeply in nurses — in their strength, their compassion, and their impact. He brought people together, uplifted the nursing community, and reminded us of the power of connection and service. His presence made a difference.

His passing is a devastating loss — not only to nurses, but to the entire community he helped build and support.

On this Valentine’s Day, we are reminded that love is more than a word. It is action. It is kindness. It is compassion. It is community.

In honor of Alex, we recommit ourselves to spreading the very things he stood for — support, unity, and care for one another. May we lead with love a little more boldly and hold each other a little closer.

We are deeply saddened. And we are deeply grateful for the light he shared.

💜 Grateful Moments Like This 💜

We recently had the chance to catch up with one of our 2024–2025 Bonnie Fang Foundation scholarship recipients, Shellby Sykes from the Galen School of Nursing here in Las Vegas — and our hearts are full.

Despite recovering from an Achilles injury, Shellby still made the time to meet up with us. Over some tasty eats and meaningful conversation, we were finally able to present her with her Bonnie Fang Foundation scholarship plaque and celebrate her journey, resilience, and dedication to becoming a nurse.

Moments like this are the why behind everything we do. Supporting future nurses, walking alongside them through their journey, and celebrating their perseverance is truly an honor.

Shellby, we are so proud of you and can’t wait to see all the lives you’ll touch. 💫
