Rooted in Wellness Therapeutic massage
Cash & credit cards accepted Welcome, we're happy you're here! There are so many benefits to therapeutic massage! Massage is for every BODY!

A space for the community to relax, restore and reduce muscle tension through therapeutic massage. Whether you want to relax, work on tension & stress relief, pain reduction, joint mobility and many other benefits - we are here to help. We schedule our sessions by time preference. You get the full amount of hands on work scheduled. Through the health intake form and our discussion with you at the

beginning of your appointment, we assess and use that knowledge to give you the best treatment at that time. We combine our continuing education knowledge (specialties) in to your session, rather than choosing add-ons, as we find that can get confusing for clients and we may have a technique that would benefit your health. Pregnancy massage is the only other option besides the time preferences and is available with Karen, as she has specific knowledge and setup for this. To schedule an appointment - please click Book Now, tap our link or visit the website. We are located at 937 Beaver Grade Rd. #5 in the Gabriel Professional Building at the top of the stairs. There is a ramp if you'd like to avoid the stairs to the left of the building at the higher point of the parking lot (in front of Body Beautiful). Looking forward to seeing you soon! Help your body, help you!

One simple way to bring things back to calm is through Bhramari breath (aka “bee breath” 🐝). On your exhale, gently create a soft humming sound, like a bee. This vibration helps quiet mental chatter, ease tension and bring your focus inward.

>>Try this for fuller, deeper breathing:
Lay on your back with one hand on your heart & the other on your belly. As you breathe in slowly, feel your belly rise. As you exhale, feel it fall. Let your breath be steady and unforced. We tend to get stuck in “chest” breathing and don’t reach that deeper, fuller breath.

Adding the gentle hum on your exhale can deepen the calming effect. Like giving your nervous system a soft reset.

Slow it down. Tune it in. Let the breath do the work.

Nope 🪄 it’s not an incantation from Harry Potter..

The QL, quadratus lomborum, sits deep in your low back on either side of your spine. It connects your ribs to your pelvis, helping support your core & spine.

Your QL helps you bend side to side, stabilize your spine, support posture, and assist with breathing. It’s working constantly, especially when standing, walking or sitting.

When it gets tight you might feel deep achy low back pain, tightness on one side more than the other, discomfort when standing or walking, pain when bending or getting up from a chair. It’s often that “one sided” low back tension.

The QL can get overworked from sitting for long periods, carrying weight on one side (bags, kids), poor sleeping positions & overuse or compensation from weak core/glutes.

Some ways to keep your QL happy are gentle side stretches, strengthening your core & glutes, switching sides when carrying things & taking movement breaks throughout the day.

Massage therapy can help release the QL, reduce discomfort & improve how your body moves.

In Ayurveda, sleep is one of the pillars of life. And for good reason! It impacts your energy, mood & how you show up every day. Changes in your routine / new seasons can have an impact on your sleep.

Start small: a consistent bedtime + a calming wind down routine can make a big difference 🤍

Simple, consistent habits = better sleep over time

Ever feel like your mind is running nonstop? Or that you’re holding tension without realizing it? A body scan meditation is a simple but powerful way to reconnect!

A body scan is a mindfulness practice where you slowly bring your attention to different areas of your body, from head to toe, simply noticing sensations without judgement.

Try it out!
>> Find a quiet space & get comfy (lying down or seated)
>> Close your eyes & take a few slow breaths
>> Start at your head & gently move your awareness down your body
>> Notice areas of tension, warmth, tightness or ease
>> No need to “fix” anything, just observe & keep breathing

Why does this help?
Bringing yourself into full awareness of the present moment helps calm the nervous system, reduce stress & deepen the connection to your body.
Apps like Calm are a great tool if you want guided support. I have a few free passes I’ll link in the comments if you’d like to try.

😌 The more aware you are of what your body is feeling, the more effective your massage sessions can be. And the more in tune you’ll feel overall!

Our nervous systems are designed to move between activity & rest, but modern like keeps many of us stuck in “go mode”. Work stress, constant notifications, poor sleep, and busy schedules can quietly keep the body in a low level stress response. This makes it harder to truly relax & recharge!

When your nervous system calms down, your body can finally shift into repair mode. Here’s what that can look like:
>> when the body moves out of stress mode, muscles soften, breathing slows, and the body is able to settle into more restorative sleep.
>> a calm nervous system allows tight muscles to release easily, which can help reduce chronic tension in areas like the neck, shoulders & back.
>> your body’s “rest & digest” state supports healthy digestion, hormone balance & overall recovery.

Massage helps gently guide the body back into this restorative state. Giving your nervous system the reset it’s been asking for!

Go ahead and form that alliance 😊

Ever rubbed the top of your shoulders after a long day? That’s your trapezius muscle asking for attention.

The trapezius (or traps) is a large, kite-shaped muscle that runs from the base of your skull, down your neck, across your shoulders and into your mid back. It plays a big role in supporting your neck, stabilizing your shoulders and helping you move your arms.

What happens when it’s tight? You might feel neck stiffness, shoulder tension, headaches that start at the base of the skull, or that constant urge to shrug your shoulders.

What if it’s weak? Weak traps can lead to poor posture, shoulder fatigue, and extra strain on your neck and upper back.

One of the biggest aggravators? Looking down at phones or computers for long periods 📱 When your head shifts forward, the traps have to work overtime to support it.

The best way to keep it healthy is to strengthen your upper back, move your shoulders through full ranges of motion, take posture breaks during the day, & get regular bodywork to release that built up tension.

Your trapezius works hard every day, taking care of it can make a big difference in how your neck, shoulders & upper back feel.

If your traps feel like they’re carrying the stress of the week, massage therapy can help restore the balance and ease tension!

Your session doesn’t end when you walk out the door. Your body continues to adjust, release, and integrate the work we did together.

Here are a few simple reminders to help you feel your best after your massage:
✨ Refuel gently
Choose freshly cooked, nourishing foods. Eat enough to support your body, but avoid overeating right afterward.
💧 Hydrate well
Drink pure water throughout the day. Room temperature or warm water is best to support circulation and digestion.
🚫 Skip alcohol
Alcohol is strongly discouraged after your session, as it can interfere with hydration and the body’s natural healing response.
🫧 If you received cupping therapy:
For the next 4–6 hours, please avoid:
Saunas or steam rooms
Hot showers
Exercise immediately after your session
Heating pads
Cold plunges or ice packs
Excessive sun exposure
These precautions help your body integrate the treatment and support proper healing of the tissues.
🏃‍♀️ Movement timing matters
Gentle movement the same day is fine, but more intense exercise is best saved for the following day, when your body is ready to benefit from it.
🌙 Extra tip:
Rest, breathe deeply, and allow yourself a slower evening if possible, your nervous system will thank you.

Your massage is an investment in your wellness. Supporting your body afterward as much as you can, helps extend the benefits and keeps you feeling balanced longer.
