O. Sid Alley

Age 87, January 13, 2026. Beloved husband of Beverly. Loving father Jean Alley, Linda (Philip Rutledge) Alley and James A. "A.J." Alley. Baby Brother to his 8 siblings; Nafe, Chuck, Alice, Virginia, Abdy, Delores, Betty and Dorothy, who all sadly preceded him in death. Sid is survived by countless nieces , nephews, extended family members and friends.

Sid was known for his civic and social contributions throughout the City of Allen Park. He was an elected official of the Allen Park School Board, and he spent countless hours volunteering both with the city and with the Allen Park Presbyterian Church. He was a good man and will be missed by all who knew him.

Memorial Visitation will be held on February 6, 2026 from 4pm until 8pm at Weise Funeral Home, 7210 Park Ave., Allen Park, MI 48101

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday February 7, 2026 at the Allen Park Presbyterian Church, 7101 Park Ave., Allen Park, MI 48101. Gathering at the Church will begin at 10 am with the Memorial Service beginning at 11 am.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions can be made to the Allen Park Presbyterian Church of the Alzheimer's Association.

Desider (Dave) Tarkanyi

Desider (Dave) Tarkanyi, of Allen Park, Michigan, passed away peacefully on January 12, 2026. He was born to Elek and Etel Tarkanyi in Lincoln Park, Michigan.

Dave spent his younger days with his older brother Elek racing their 1932 Ford three-window Coupe. In 1949, Dave began his career at Ford Motor Company as an electrician after completing skilled trade school. At the age of twenty, he was drafted into the U.S Army and served in Korea from 1951 to 1953 in the 17th Infantry Division. After being discharged from the Army, he returned to Ford Motor Company, where he worked for forty-seven more years, retiring in 1998.

In 1961, he married his first love, Margaret, with whom he spent 16 wonderful years creating a beautiful family and setting strong roots in Allen Park. Together, they had three children: Karen (Tom) Moro, Denise Vargo, and Daniel (Cheryl) Tarkanyi.

Dave was an active member and participated in the American Hungarian Reformed Church in Allen Park and held his Hungarian heritage close to his heart. He loved fishing, was an avid fan of the Detroit Lions, Tigers, and Michigan Wolverines, and enjoyed being outdoors, working in his yard, and gardening.

After losing his first wife, Dave remarried in 1980, which added two stepsons to the family, Tom Toth and David (Janiene) Toth.

His greatest joy in life was his family, especially his kids and grandchildren: Amanda, Daniel, Zachary, Breanna, Alex, Brittney (Josh), Benjamin, and Caroline (Steve); and one great- grandchild, Kurtis.

The service will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at Weise Funeral Home,7210 Park, Allen Park, with visitation from 1-3 pm and a service beginning at 3 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Dave’s memory to Folds of Honor

Henry Balamucki

Age 84, January 5, 2026. Dear brother of the late Eugene Balamucki, the late Arthur Balamucki, the late Antonina Balamucki and the late Bernice Clutts. He his survived by many nieces and nephews, several extended family members and many friends.

Henry loved the outdoors. He was an avid hunter of turkey and deer. He was a player and manager of many Senior Softball teams and continued to participate in the league well into his 80's.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2026 at St. Mary Magdalen Church, 19624 Wood Street, Melvindale, MI 48122.

Visiting at the Church will begin at 9:30 am in Saturday. Private interment at Our Lady of Hope Cemetery, Brownstown, MI

Jean Bowyer

Jean Bowyer, age 90, passed away peacefully on January 5, 2026, surrounded by love. Born on July 23, 1935, Jean lived a life defined by strength, generosity, and deep devotion to those she loved.Real estate was truly Jean’s passion. She built a long and respected career marked by dedication, sharp instinct, and pride in helping others. She took great pride in helping people, and her dedication to her work never wavered, remaining a meaningful part of her life until her final weeks.Family was the heart of Jean’s world. She cherished time together and believed deeply in staying close. Her friends were equally important to her and were loved like family, bringing joy, laughter, and companionship throughout her life.Jean embraced life fully. She loved the excitement of the casino and her slot machines, and at home she expressed love through food. She was always cooking and baking — her spaghetti and meatballs were legendary, and her baked goods were just as cherished.A natural giver, Jean shared her time, wisdom, and love freely. She was the foundation of her family, a steady presence, and a safe place. She was cherished not only for all she did, but for who she was.Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Bowyer; her daughter, Sherri McDonald; and her son-in-law, Steve McDonald.She is survived by her son, Dennis Boyer; her daughter, Terri (Onorato) Vitale; her grandchildren Paul Fidrus, Fara (Thad) Shelton, Sabrina Vitale, Jamie Fidrus, Vincenzo (Amy) Vitale, Floyd (Amanda Rogers) McDonald, Lily Boyer, and Grayson Boyer; her great-grandchildren Christopher, John, Savanna, Shelby, Thad, Jamison, Johnathan, and Arwen; and a loving aunt to Lisa, Gerry, Courtney, and Ian Francisco.Jean will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered today, tomorrow, and always.

Patricia Ann Lackey

Age 67. Loving daughter of the Joan and the late Robert Lackey. Dear sister of Kimberly Lackey, Denise Naso, Glenn Lackey, late Gregory Lackey and the late Robert Lackey Jr.

Patty grew up in Allen Park and graduated from Melvindale Northern Allen Park High School. She graduated top in her class.

She was a head teller for Catholic Credit Union.

Patty was chosen as the Shriners Princess twice, at five and again at twelve years old.

She will be missed and has left a huge hole in the hearts of everyone who knew her.
