When I started out as a massage therapist, 22 years ago, $60 was the going rate. So many still charge this, and why good, quality massage therapist get burnt out. That’s why I charge what I need to make a living, and do about 25 hands on hours, which is the full time average hours most massage therapists can physically do. Some can do more, some do less. At one time, I was doing almost 40 hands on hours a week just to make enough for bills. I was due to give myself a “raise “ in November, but I held off. I hate asking for money, let alone raise my rates.
Now that it’s been a few months, I will be adding a small amount to my massages in April. I’m working on pricing, so stay tuned. As always. I will allow booking 3 months in advance to lock in the current rate.
