It is unfortunate when professionalism is compromised in business transactions. I have yet to receive a refund from Allen Chaney Home Care Business CoachingAllen Chaney Home Care Business Coaching, despite my many phone calls and emails ... my initial disclosure of over 30 years of business experience. I did not require assistance with obtaining an EIN number or other ancillary services; rather, I sought guidance on completing a state of Michigan AFC group home application, which was not provided. Mr. Chaney has acknowledged his obligation to return my funds, but has failed to do so. As a result, I am compelled to share my experience with others, serving as a cautionary tale regarding the importance of diligent research and scrutiny when engaging with fellow business owners. Please return my funds. This communication serves as formal notice of your failure to deliver the services for which I paid, as well as your refusal to issue the refund you previously acknowledged. As a seasoned business owner with over 30 years of experience, I am well-versed in the principles of fair business practices, contractual obligations, and misrepresentation of services. At no point did I request comprehensive setup for a group home or additional services beyond application completion, which was clearly communicated from the outset. You have provided no deliverables, completed work, or documentation to justify retaining the $500 payment, constituting non-performance, failure to render contracted services, and unjust enrichment. Your decision to retain funds for unrendered services is not only unprofessional, but also unethical and potentially fraudulent. Any reputable business owner recognizes that refunds are obligatory when services are not provided, particularly when acknowledged by the service provider. While you may feel entitled to retain the payment, I am documenting this incident thoroughly and will provide factual accounts of your actions to interested parties. I will not hesitate to escalate this matter through consumer-protection or business regulatory channels if necessary. Your actions are a testament to your business practices, and reputation is paramount in our profession. What goes around eventually comes back around. I trusted you as a fellow business owner, and you have chosen to violate that trust in a profoundly unprofessional manner.

The best care possible.. 🥰

For your engagement:

I stayed off Facebook for a week only to come back to a rack of comments saying:

“Your mother is declining.”

Well… of course she is. She has dementia and decline is a part of the journey.

The family is well aware — and there’s really no need for the constant public announcement, but thanks for your observation.

She started showing early signs of dementia over 10 years ago so this is quite natural…it’s actually common so there is no BREAKING NEWS here.

Here’s the truth: dementia is a progressive condition. That means over time, cognitive and physical abilities naturally change — sometimes slowly, sometimes suddenly. There’s no cure, only care, compassion, and creating moments of joy where we still can.

What you see on camera is love in action — not denial, not performance. Just a daughter doing her best to bring love, light and smiles to a dark disease. 💜

But it is HARD TO WATCH.

So when you must constantly point out the obvious in a very insensitive fashion, don’t be surprised when my response is, “NO S**T SHERLOCK!”

And let’s be honest — even when we’re healthy, every day we wake up, we’re one day closer to our own decline. No one lives forever. So let’s lead with kindness while we can.

My Mama used to always say: You will get old, IF YOU LIVE LONG ENOUGH.

Respectfully,
The Management 💜

This morning, I received a message from a client sharing that her EBT funds had been restored. A couple of days ago, she reached out with a simple request, and I always strive to do my best to support my clients. In this case, she wanted a pot of chili but did not have the means to purchase the ingredients, so I took it upon myself to fulfill her request.

This morning, she was overjoyed to inform me that her funds had been restored and that she could now repay me using her card. In my line of work, I do not require clients to repay me, and as a matter of policy, we do not accept gifts of any kind from clients to avoid any potential confusion. I thanked her and encouraged her to keep her resources, knowing that we cannot predict what the future may hold.

While business has been challenging this year—particularly due to disruptions caused by a difficult individual who has impacted several of the programs my company participates in—I remain steadfast. I trust that God has brought me this far and will continue to guide me. This season has been a powerful lesson: I cannot carry the financial burdens of everyone around me. My focus now is on maintaining stability for myself and supporting my team and clients in sustainable ways.

Through these experiences, I have learned resilience and the importance of prioritizing what I can truly influence, which has ultimately kept me afloat.

I definitely want to just take a moment to say Thank you to my team:
