✨𝐌𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐠𝐢𝐟𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐠𝐮𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞, 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐮𝐞𝐥 𝐨𝐟 𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐭𝐡, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐚𝐜𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩.✨
As chair of the Mentorship Committee it always fills my heart with joy to see this collage of recently matched URiM students who will soon be my fellow dermatology colleagues.
The last four years have been a labor of love spearheading this committee and matching students with dermatologists to guide them during their clerkships, inspire them on their rotations, and motivate them to stand as a prepared applicant to match into Dermatology.
To the student volunteers… none of this would be possible, without your tireless efforts of putting together newsletters, flyers, and PowerPoints, as we prepared for each webinar over the last year.
To the mentos and webinar panelists… thank you for volunteering your time and efforts to pour into each student.
To the executive board .a … thank you for your leadership and trusting both myself and for leading the committee this year.
To … thank you for being the mentor I needed so many years ago who continues to guide and encourage me as I navigate my career path.
To thank you for believing in me and challenging me with the task to start this initiative four years ago. We’ve matched over 200 students in dermatology, and we are just getting started!!!
If there is one message I can never say enough to every young student who dares to dream, it wills always be MENTORSHIP.
