Congratulations to Allen Psychiatry Team- especially the PHP/IOP team- on the 2026 Cigna / EverNorth Center of Excellence designation. Well deserved. Let’s keep raising the bar. They assessed the following criteria:

+7-day ambulatory follow up: Percentage of patients seen by an in-network behavioral health care facility or licensed outpatient provider within seven days of discharge.

+Escalation to higher level of care: Percentage of patients without admission to a higher level of care during the episode of care.

+Readmission rates: Percentage of patients without readmissions within 60 calendar days of discharge.

+Emergency department (ED) admissions: Percentage of patients without a behavioral admission to an ED within 30 calendar days of discharge.

+Total number of annual admissions: A minimum of: 14 unique treatment episodes for adult mental health; 11 unique treatment episodes for child and adolescent mental health; 14 unique treatment episodes for substance use disorder; and 12 unique treatment episodes for eating disorders.

+Total cost per episode: Total dollars paid for services based on regional cost standards, accounting for extreme outliers.

The prevalence of postpartum depression (PPD) in the United States is estimated to be around 1 in 8 women (12-16%). If you have Post partum depression, please ask your provider at Allen Psychiatry about Zurzuvae (zuranolone) which is a neuroactive steroid antidepressant—the first oral medication approved by the FDA specifically for postpartum depression (PPD) (approved in 2023).
Rapid onset: Many patients experience improvement in mood and anxiety symptoms within days (often by the end of the 14-day course).
Short-term oral regimen: It’s taken once daily at night for 14 days—not continuously like SSRIs.
Sustained effect: Some patients maintain benefit for weeks to months after completing the course.
It is not contraindicated with breastfeeding, again ZERO contraindications 🤞👏
