Begin Counseling Today

Begin Counseling Today Social anxiety does not have to define your choices in life. I help people foster inner safety through compassionate education.

I've learned to thrive with social anxiety and to help my clients learn to thrive with social anxiety, too. I am a doctoral candidate for the Doctor of Psychology degree. I also have a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and two Bachelor's degrees I earned while playing baseball in my undergrad. I hold two licenses in Texas, a Licensed Professional Counselor - Supervisor and a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor. I thoroughly enjoy helping people break free from the pressure of internal criticism and fear of being hurt by other people. Stigma is the leading barrier to care, so I want to really reinforce that judgment and criticism have no place in the therapy room. Please, begin your healing journey today.

Vulnerability isn't a weakness—it's the key to real connection. When we let down our guard and share our true selves, including our fears and doubts, we invite others to do the same. This openness creates trust, deepens relationships, and helps break the cycle of isolation social anxiety often brings.

Sometimes my anxious thoughts felt like a storm I couldn't escape. I tried pushing them away, but they only grew louder. It wasn't until I started accepting those feelings that I found a surprising kind of peace.

Acceptance doesn't mean giving in—it means making space for your emotions without judgment. This shift helped me change anxiety from a barrier into a signal for growth.

If you're struggling with anxious thoughts, remember: acceptance can be your first step toward freedom.

I used to avoid gatherings because the fear felt overwhelming. Even small social interactions felt like huge hurdles. I started practicing tiny acts of self-compassion—reminding myself it's okay to feel anxious and giving myself permission to take breaks.

These small moments of kindness gradually eased the weight of social anxiety day by day. It's not about perfection. It's about nurturing yourself through every step.

What's one small way you've shown kindness to yourself today?

I used to feel trapped by my own anxious thoughts, like I was stuck on a never-ending loop of worry and fear. It felt impossible to break free. But what changed everything was finding compassionate support that met me where I was, not where I thought I should be. Healing starts with kindness toward yourself, and that gentle support can help you rewrite your story too.

Some days, I felt like my mind was a storm I couldn't calm. Simple tasks felt overwhelming, and I doubted if I'd ever feel steady again. That's when I started small, daily rituals to nurture my mental resilience—things anyone can do, even on the hardest days.

Before a big social event, I used to feel my heart racing and my mind spiraling into "what if" scenarios.

Then I found a simple mindfulness practice that changed everything: I close my eyes, take slow, deep breaths, and count each breath—just noticing how my body softens with each exhale.

It's a small moment of calm that helps me step into social situations with a little more ease and confidence. What's your go-to way to ease anxiety before social interactions?

Perfection isn't the goal—connection is. When you accept your imperfections, you open the door to genuine social growth and deeper relationships.

Your authentic self, with all its quirks and vulnerabilities, invites others in. That's where real confidence begins.

What's one imperfect thing you're ready to show the world? Comment "Ready" if you're accepting your true self today.
