Q1 meeting officially complete! Last week we all took Thursday afternoon off to go through updates, refresh systems, do some hands on training, AND we had a guest speaker in from in Allendale, Dr. Keegan Shannon! He worked with our team to correct some posture challenges in the operatory to help us stay healthier for hopefully a very long time!

West Michigan is represented at the Kois Center in Seattle, Washington this week! Dr. Kimmel and one of her former classmates from The University of Michigan, Dr. Hannah Nelson, are both taking Biomechanics at the center. The week consists of 50 hours of advanced training to improve longevity and minimize complications when it comes to treatment for our patients. Continuing on through the Kois curriculum is a big investment, but entirely worth it as we strive to deliver the best level of care in our office!

Loved the course hosted by the Muskegon District Dental Society tonight! 📖📚 Dr. Kimmel and Megan attended the talk by local periodontist, Dr. Rachel Sinacola, with Grand River Periodontics, who spoke on gingival tissues and common concerns (such a good refresher and a great reminder of how important it is to monitor our patients and catch changes and disease early).

We truly love learning and bringing new knowledge right back to our patients, AND we love knowing we have fantastic specialists in West Michigan who are able to treat all the “issues with your tissues” with their expertise and clinical skills! 💙🦷

Artistic repair of trauma to the right side front teeth! 🎨🖌️
For this case, Dr. Kimmel and Alexa used several shades of composite material as well as underlying opaquers and tints to mimic the natural shade differences and craze lines present in the neighboring incisor! The result is a natural fix that blends beautifully and was completed in a single day, no porcelain crowns or veneers required!

Did you know? Dr. Kimmel graduated from her undergraduate studies with a major in Biology and a minor in Art!? She loves combining the two in cases like these!

🎊 This time of year always leads to reflection on this office and how far it has come - from the patients who have trusted a new office with their care 👩🏻‍⚕️, this wonderful team that has evolved and adapted as we have grown, redefined roles and learned from each other along the way 👩🏼‍🤝‍👩🏻👩🏼‍🤝‍👩🏻, and the systems developed and put in place that take the chaos out of a dental practice and instead create reliable consistent days where hospitality and quality relationships with patients are at the forefront. 🏥🩺😷
