Your VO2 Max is your bodies ability to transport and use oxygen.

We know we can improve VO2 Max with more cardio and losing weight.

We know we improve VO2 Max with higher intensity training.

What most don’t know is you can improve VO2 Max with breath training.

The most fundamental skill to improve cardio with breath training is the ability to maintain NASAL breathing.

My recommendation:

1. Have your VO2 Max tested accurately (NOT USING A WEARABLE OR ALGORITHMS) so you know your baseline.

2. Start breathing (inhale and exhale) only through the nose. NO MOUTH BREATHING.

We all have enough time to eat better and get in daily movement/exercise.

It comes to what your priorities are.

For some if us our priority is work, family obligations, going out to dinner, scrolling through social, staying up late, waking up late.

And I get it.

But I also see my client’s priorities make a significant shift once they realize they are hitting middle age, gaining weight, have poor blood test results, stressed out daily, start medication for high blood pressure/ diabetes and just look and feel old.

The most difficult thing to recapture is your health.

Once you lose your health, you may switch your priorities but it may be too late to fully regain your health.

I’m sure you have heard of someone passing a cardiac stress test and then having a heart attack relatively soon.

I know for certain, people with “normal” bloodwork but are obese with difficulty walking up stairs dropping dead but their md stated they were healthy.

You must realize that your body does a remarkable job keeping things in balance (homeostasis) but once the scale is tipped you are in full on disease mode.

Do you look healthy?🤔

Can you walk up 4 flights of stairs without getting fatigued?🤔

Does your belly hang over your belt?🤔

This is not a personal attack but let’s cut the BS.

If you look unhealthy, you are unhealthy.

If you look healthy but your tests prove your not healthy, you are unhealthy.

We have one life, STOP YOUR PERSONAL BS‼️

If you want an accurate marker of your current health and potential future health, check your VO2 Max score.

You can’t BS the way your heart and lungs are functioning.

Do you know of anybody in their 60’s and 70’s that doesn’t move around well and has a chronic disease?

You can’t afford to be average (fitness), especially in your 40’s and 50’s or you will suffer in your 60’s and 70’s!

Why?

Poor or average fitness has been the most accurate predictor of your healthspan and all cause mortality (everything that can kill you).

Healthspan is how long your going to be healthy before developing chronic disease.

Here in the USA that age is 66.8! PATHETIC‼️

Retirement is 65!

1.8 years‼️

Now, if your fitness (VO2 Max) score was EXCELLENT for your age, especially in your 40’s and 50’s there is almost NO CHANCE you’ll be suffering your last decade or two with disease.

YOUR LEVEL OF FITNESS IS THAT POWERFUL OF A PREDICTOR OF YOUR FUTURE HEALTH AND QUALITY OF LIFE.

(All caps to get the point across)

A VO2 Max test will determine precisely your current level of fitness and where you are lacking.

With that info, I will guide you with a simple but highly effective strategy to BOOST your fitness to EXCELLENT!

I see it everyday, clients trying their “best” to get healthier and fit through exercise but in fact they notice minimal to no improvement.

Why?

One of the main factors is they are training at too intense of a heart rate and utilizing sugar for fuel, and then they are exhausted and crave sugar!!

If your goal is to just move your body and pick stuff up and put them down than ok, keep at it.

But if you are looking to burn off body fat, get faster and stronger, and improve your health span, than start training with precision.

Even the greatest marathoner of our time, spends 80% of his training in Zone 2 which is light intensity.

So, why do you find the need to get out of breath with every run, ride or WOD?

It’s not going to get you to your goal any quicker, in fact its doing the opposite.

Your potentially setting yourself up for injury which will lead to weight gain and eventually depression.

Invest your time!✅
Train with precision!✅
Achieve your goals!✅

Eating too few calories can cause a major decrease in metabolism.

Although a calorie deficit is needed for weight loss, it can be counterproductive for your calorie intake to drop too low.

When you dramatically lower your calorie intake, your body senses that food is scarce and lowers the rate at which it burns calories.

Eating too few calories lowers your Resting Metabolic Rate (RMR).

A lower RMR results in a slower metabolism.

Do you know how the body gets rid of the fat that you burn?

Go ahead and ask your trainer, nutritionist and even your doctor.

All the so called experts that I asked said peeing and pooping.

Well that is wrong.

A very small amount is excreted through sweat and urine, but the vast majority is excreted through the lymphatic system.

The what system?

Yeah, it doesn’t get as much attention as words like metabolism or ketones or macros BUT the lymphatic system is the lynch pin for a majority of people.

If your lymphatic system is not working optimally, you will have a difficult time losing body fat and your not gonna be anywhere near your optimum.
