Moments like this remind us why we do what we do 💛

Recently, a young mom joined us for an Empowered Parenting class discussion with her young baby in her arms. She shared that her labor and delivery went smoothly, and while sleep is hard to come by these days, she loves being a mom. Her words stayed with us: Her baby is “the best gift ever.”

Our client advocate loves spending time with her, supporting her as she grows in confidence as a mother. Watching moms discover their strength and joy — especially in these early weeks — is such a gift to our team.

This Thankful Thursday, we’re celebrating a meaningful upgrade to our ultrasound suites! New dimmable medical lighting allows for clearer imaging and a more comfortable experience for the women we serve.

We’re deeply grateful to the John and Margaret Post Foundation for making this improvement possible and to GC Electric for the expert installation. And a fun connection: GC Electric site foreman Jonathan Batten is the brother of our own Client Services Director, Katie Batten!

A couple recently came to Bright Hope for an ultrasound. As first-time parents who speak Arabic, they arrived feeling understandably nervous. During the appointment, they were captivated by the ultrasound images and engaged as our client advocate and medical staff shared information — using a translation app to ensure clear communication and understanding.

Since their initial visit, they’ve continued to stay connected through our secure texting app, which allows them to ask questions and receive support from our medical team.

“I’m keeping my baby.” — pregnancy test/ultrasound patient

This young woman came to Bright Hope feeling unsure and abortion-vulnerable. As a college student, she and her boyfriend felt overwhelmed by the timing and the financial responsibilities of becoming parents.

After meeting with a caring client advocate and our certified ultrasound technician, she decided to continue her pregnancy and shared that she feels supported and better prepared with help from her parents.

We’re thankful for supporters who help spread the word about Bright Hope and the services we offer. Joe Vichot recently appeared as a guest on the “As I Walk Through the Valley” podcast, hosted by Rabbi Moshe Kurtz of Congregation Sons of Israel in Allentown.

Their conversation included a discussion of two local organizations Joe is involved with: Bright Hope and Cay Galgon Life House in Bethlehem.

“A woman who is struggling with making the decision to keep their baby — why not give them an opportunity to do just that?” Joe said. “Why not show them that life that is growing in them right now is as important as any other life on this earth?”

The discussion about Bright Hope and Cay Galgon begins at 17:43 of the podcast episode: https://open.spotify.com/episode/0VyUNI93PJ3FjQRdypFxGq

We’re thankful for the opportunity to share about Bright Hope with local churches celebrating the Sanctity of Human Life. It’s a privilege to worship alongside partners whose prayers and financial support make it possible for us to provide free maternal healthcare services to women in our community.

We’re always happy to update churches about our work throughout the year. If you’re interested in hosting a Bright Hope presentation, please let us know: https://brighthopepartners.org/sanctity-of-human-life

“They have helped me and given me more information about taking care of my premature baby.” — Empowered Parenting Client

We offer parenting classes for clients with children up to 3 years old. Moms and families can learn about a wide range of topics, from navigating pregnancy-related concerns to practical tips for helping babies sleep. Many of the moms we serve have shared how helpful and encouraging these classes have been.

By attending classes, moms can earn Baby Bucks to spend in our Baby Boutique, stocked with diapers, wipes, clothing, and other essential items.

“I am very thankful for Bright Hope for being there to start me on my journey.” — pregnancy test/ultrasound patient

This patient came to us wanting to continue her pregnancy but facing circumstances that made her especially vulnerable to having an abortion. She was living with her grandparents after leaving an unsafe situation and felt overwhelmed by the timing of her pregnancy.

Through supportive conversations with our patient advocates, she was able to think through her options and take next steps with confidence. During a follow-up call, she shared the encouraging news that she had secured health insurance and an OB-GYN — bringing renewed hope for her future and her baby’s.
