The Lehigh County Coroner’s Office & Forensic Center (LCCO&FC) hosted a facility tour and presentation for a wonderful group of students from Roberto Clemente Charter School. Assisting with the visit was Chief Deputy Coroner Pender. The students were engaged throughout, asking thoughtful questions and showing a strong interest in the work we do. It was a pleasure to spend time with them and provide insight into the role of the coroner's office.

On Sunday, March 22, 2026, members of the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office & Forensic Center, along with their friends and families, proudly participated in the Allentown St. Patrick's Parade.

It was an amazing turnout with perfect weather, making for a truly enjoyable day. The event continues to be a great opportunity to connect with our community, showcase the people behind our office, and build meaningful relationships in a positive and engaging setting. We are proud to be part of such a strong and vibrant community!

Today we recognize National Funeral Director and Mortician Recognition Day!

The Lehigh County Coroner’s Office & Forensic Center works daily with our local funeral directors and morticians throughout Lehigh County, and it is an honor to partner with these dedicated professionals. Their compassion, professionalism, and commitment to caring for families during some of life’s most difficult moments does not go unnoticed.

On behalf of our entire office, we extend our sincere thanks to all funeral directors, morticians and their entire staff for the important work they do and for the compassion they show to families across our community.

Please join me in congratulating five outstanding members of the LCCO&FC who recently earned their American Board of Medicolegal Death Investigators (ABMDI) certification.

With this achievement, the LCCO&FC now has a total of 15 ABMDI-certified Deputies, with several more team members currently preparing to sit for the examination — a testament to our office’s strong culture of professionalism and continuing education.

This accomplishment reflects their dedication to investigative excellence and compassionate service to the residents and families of Lehigh County. Their hard work continues to strengthen the capabilities and credibility of our office.

With the pending winter storm approaching our region, the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office & Forensic Center staff reminds residents to use caution when shoveling snow — especially those with underlying health conditions.

Snow shoveling is strenuous activity and can place significant stress on the heart and body. During the last major storm, the LCCO&FC unfortunately investigated five deaths related to snow shoveling. I share this not to alarm, but out of sincere concern for the safety and well-being of our community.

Individuals with heart disease, high blood pressure, respiratory conditions, or those who are not accustomed to heavy physical exertion should take extra precautions.

If you experience concerning symptoms while shoveling, stop immediately and seek medical attention.

Our thoughts are always with the families we have served. Please take this storm seriously and look out for one another in our community.

Big improvements are underway at the LCCO&FC.

We are moving ahead with significant renovations and upgrades — including brighter spaces and the planned addition of a state-of-the-art CT scanner. These enhancements reflect our ongoing commitment to professionalism, innovation, and compassionate service to the families we serve.

Moving forward isn’t just a goal — it’s the standard at the LCCO&FC.

Huge thank-you to Mandy and the team at Let's Go Coffee Company for treating the staff at the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office & Forensic Center to amazing gluten-free baked goods yesterday.

Everything was absolutely delicious — not a crumb left behind! We’re grateful for the kindness and the coffee.

The LCCO&FC brought home some medals from the Cetronia Ambulance Corps Super Sunday Food Competition!

Mac and Cheese — 3rd Place
Salsa — 3rd Place
Double Chocolate Cajun & Mexican Chocolate Chip Cookies — 1st Place AND 3rd Place (clearly overachievers)
Chili — No official medal… but 1st Place for our flavor buds

Proud of our team — showing up for the community and apparently dominating the snack table too.
