Our mission is to address the increased needs of Drug and Alcohol education for our underserved Spanish speaking and minority communities of the Lehigh Valley and beyond. Placing a primary focus on the at-risk youth and families by providing a comprehensive, and culturally appropriate integrated approach through all levels of prevention, and facilitating treatment access.
Our vision is to address the growing multicultural demands of our community by providing unique bilingual services to programs and organizations, which support individuals achieve long-term recovery.
Through the years of the experience working in the field of Drug and Alcohol counseling, I have learned the importance of meeting people where they are. Today, you walked in to ask for help, but are not quite ready to drop everything you know as life and comfortable and safe, and thatâs okay! Who am I to judge you? I am here to help you achieve recovery, and in the process, help you become safer.
This led me to create a small prevention kit, which will help learn where to access help. We are losing too many lives, and too many survivors are being exposed to other preventable diseases, Hep C, HIV, and other STDs.
What's in your kit? County resources, where to access treatment, how to clean your works, how to use a condom, getting tested, condoms, cotton balls, naloxone script, alcohol pad, skin protectant, coupon for CloroxÂŽ
Where to place your kits? In a private area in your facility, where the clients can feel comfortable taking as many kits as they feel he/she may need ( i.e. Restroom, Patient or Client exam room)
The âPrevention: 101â kits are be available in Spanish and English #101EverTime
