Your nervous system isn’t dramatic.

It’s literally trying to keep you alive.

So if you’re overwhelmed, anxious, or mentally done for the day…

That’s your brain saying, “Hey buddy, maybe we don’t have to white-knuckle reality today.”

Listen to it.

Your brain isn’t “broken.”

It’s just running 47 tabs, 3 emotional pop-ups, and a childhood memory on autoplay in the background.

Totally normal.

Close one tab. Drink some water. Touch grass. Repeat.

🔍 10 Fast Facts About Carl Rogers

1- Carl Rogers was born January 8, 1902, in Oak Park, Illinois, and died February 4, 1987, in La Jolla, California.

2 - He is one of the founders of the humanistic psychology movement.

3 - Rogers developed the approach called “client-centered” or “person-centered” therapy (sometimes non-directive therapy) starting in the 1940s.

4 - His view: People have an inherent tendency toward growth and self-actualization if given the right environment.

5 - In his therapy model, the therapist’s role is to provide empathy, unconditional positive regard, and congruence (genuineness) rather than direct advice.

6 - He was president of the American Psychological Association (APA) in 1947.

7 - Rogers believed therapy should focus less on the “patient as sick person” and more on the client’s subjective experience and potential.

8 - Many therapists today still cite his person-centered approach as foundational.

9 - His work extended beyond therapy into education, organizations, and relationships — emphasizing human potential in many settings.

10 - One of his notable books: On Becoming a Person. He emphasized the “good life” not as a fixed state, but as a continual process of becoming.
