Three main nerves travel from your arm into your hand—the median, ulnar, and radial nerves. When one of these nerves becomes compressed or “trapped” by surrounding tissue, it’s known as nerve entrapment syndrome.

This compression can interfere with normal nerve signals and may cause:
-Pain
-Numbness or tingling
-Weakness
-Limited movement

Common examples include carpal tunnel syndrome, cubital tunnel syndrome, and radial tunnel syndrome, often related to repetitive motion, injury, or inflammation.
Treatment ranges from rest, bracing, and therapy to medication or, in some cases, surgery.

If you’re experiencing persistent symptoms, early evaluation is key.

✨Physical Therapy Patient of the Month✨
Meet Ellie Williams, our November Patient of the Month! ⭐️

Ellie came to OAA Physical Therapy after having surgery with one of our Orthopedic Surgeons. 🩺👨‍⚕️💪

One of her biggest goals (and challenges) was to get back to playing softball as she is a collegiate athlete at Muhlenberg College! 🥎🏃‍♀️‍➡️ 🐴

Ellie’s favorite part about coming to therapy was being able to practice throwing, especially in our designated batting cage area. Ellie also said she was able to do this through the support of one of our PT’s, Justin. Ellie mentioned, “Justin also takes the time to throw with me during each appointment to continue working on my shoulder strength.” 💪🥎Thank you, Ellie, for such kind words about our Therapists! 🩵

After PT, Ellie is looking forward to getting back to playing softball at full strength and we at OAA cannot wait to see her do that! 👏🌟🩵

Way to go, Ellie! We are so proud of you! 🩵
