s located in beautiful Alma, Nebraska, near Harlan County Lake, Nebraska’s second largest body of water. Adjoining the hospital is Heartland Family Medicine, a professional medical clinic staffed by a physician and two physician assistants. Heartland provides day-to-day medical care for patients of all ages from throughout the area. Visiting specialists travel to the HCHS regularly to provide cardiology, urology, podiatry, ophthalmology, and orthotic services. Services provided by HCHS include a 24-hour emergency room; radiology, including a 16 slice CT scanner for detailed imaging of soft tissue; rehabilitation, including occupational, speech and physical therapy; an intensive care suite; a full laboratory; a state-of-the-art pharmacy; and a modern surgical suite. Emergency transportation, staffed by experienced emergency medical technicians, is provided by a licensed ambulance service. Emergency air transport to a Level II trauma center is also available. Outpatient specialty clinics are available for Cardiology, Pulmonology, Orthopedics, Specialty Hand Surgery, Urology, Podiatry and Orthotics. Nursing is provided by a dedicated, professional nursing staff, and appetizing and nutritious meals are prepared onsite.

🌟 Meet Railyn!

Born and raised in a small town in eastern Colorado, Railyn earned her bachelor’s degree in Nutrition & Food Science from Colorado State University in 2025. She pursued her passion for occupational therapy at Central Community College in Grand Island, Nebraska, gaining hands-on experience in pediatrics, acute care, skilled nursing, and outpatient settings.

Railyn started her career as an occupational therapy assistant in August 2025 and currently focuses on acute care and skilled nursing facilities, with a special interest in feeding therapy. She truly enjoys seeing her patients reach their goals and appreciates how far-reaching and impactful occupational therapy can be.

Excitingly, Railyn has been accepted into a Master of Occupational Therapy program in Nebraska, starting August 2026. She looks forward to expanding her skills and helping even more patients in the years ahead! 💛
