Harlan County Health System hospital is a 19-bed Critical Access Hospital providing emergency, outpatient, inpatient, specialty clinic and surgical services from a spacious, modern facility. The hospital is located in beautiful Alma, Nebraska, near Harlan County Lake, Nebraska’s second largest body of water. Adjoining the hospital is Heartland Family Medicine, a professional medical clinic staffed by a physician and two physician assistants. Heartland provides day-to-day medical care for patients of all ages from throughout the area. Visiting specialists travel to the HCHS regularly to provide cardiology, urology, podiatry, ophthalmology, and orthotic services. Services provided by HCHS include a 24-hour emergency room; radiology, including a 16 slice CT scanner for detailed imaging of soft tissue; rehabilitation, including occupational, speech and physical therapy; an intensive care suite; a full laboratory; a state-of-the-art pharmacy; and a modern surgical suite. Emergency transportation, staffed by experienced emergency medical technicians, is provided by a licensed ambulance service. Emergency air transport to a Level II trauma center is also available. Outpatient specialty clinics are available for Cardiology, Pulmonology, Orthopedics, Specialty Hand Surgery, Urology, Podiatry and Orthotics. Nursing is provided by a dedicated, professional nursing staff, and appetizing and nutritious meals are prepared onsite.

The HIM Director provides leadership and oversight for all Health Information Management functions across the organization. This position is responsible for ensuring integrity, security, accessibility, and regulatory compliance of patient health information. The HIM Director serves as the organizational authority for medical record standards, documentation compliance, release of information, credentialing support, and health information systems.

We’re only 3 weeks away from Dueling Pianos and we can’t wait to see everyone! 🎹🎶

We wanted to share a few key details for the evening: Doors will open at 6:00 PM and the show will begin at 8:00 PM. Your ticket includes a meal, and a cash bar will be available throughout the night.

Be sure to bring some extra cash to tip the piano players so they’ll play your favorite songs! 🎵💵 We’ll also split the tips with the performers at the end of the night, so your requests help support us even more.

We're proud to share that Director of Outpatient, Haley Booe, and Radiology Manager, Brittany Dake, recently completed a leadership class called, 'Empowering Women Leaders,' through Rural Med. Leadership is a journey, and having the right tools, support, and network can make all the difference. This class was designed to cultivate strong, confident women leaders. It provided a safe and supportive environment where newer leaders could collaborate, share experiences, and develop essential leadership skills. One of the most impactful aspects was the emphasis on networking - building meaningful connections with other women in leadership and learning how to ask for help in various situations.

Through open discussions, real-world scenarios, and skill-building exercises, the class helped them navigate the challenges of leadership while fostering a sense of of empowerment and community. It reinforced that leadership isn't just about individual growth - it's about lifting others up and creating spaces where teams can thrive.

Congratulations Haley & Brittany for completing this program! We look forward to continue seeing you thrive as women in leadership!
